we have configured amelia for booking of inspection events. We have for each default time slot 3 available places, which works so far quite good through the frontend.
Now we have enabled the custom duration which were requested by the company to allow blocking of one of the places for a longer time. The custom duration is hidden through CSS on the frontend UI and available in the backend.
When we do a booking in the backend, this works also fine, as long as we do not set a custom duration.
But when we set a custom duration in the backend for a new customer for ONE place, all further free places in the custom duration time is also blocked.
Believe, that this is a bug in Amelia, which may was not seen before. Could you now give me a usable workaround for this, or can you please fix this issue or point me to the place, where I could fix it by myself?
Please provide me a temporary WP-admin (administrator) user for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue.
We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.

Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologize for the delayed response as we have been experiencing an unusually high number of tickets. I am sorry that it has taken longer than usual to respond to your concern and your patience is highly appreciated.
Thank you for the credentials. As the 5th of January is now in the past. Is there any other example of the issue that you are dealing with as I could not replicate this issue?
you can see now the same effect in the attachements on 20th of jan.
Alle timeslots after the start-timeslot for the longer period are hidden...
you can see this currently only for bookings for the employee "1 Wien" as only this employee has 3 slots available... (all other only have one slot per time)
When the custom duration is used and for example you have a 4h appointment for a service, the only option for booking an appointment during those 4 hours is at the start of that appointment and it goes for every duration.
Here is for different durations:
1h
2h
Hope this helps you.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
okay, this means, when I have more than one available station, the first user defines, how long the slot for all other users will be? Quite an interesting definition of a booking where some stranger defines, how long my booking will be.. ;-). For me this is more a bug than a feature... sorry.
As we are having 30 minute timeslots for all customers but we want be able to "block" one of the stations in the backend, what would you suggest as possible useful solution?
The reason why it works that way is that the employee cannot be assigned to multiple appointments at the same time, and thus the customers cannot book the appointment at 10 am for example if one customer already booked a 4-hour appointment at 8 am.
If you want to block a certain location/service from the back-end, you could simply create a special day for the employee where you would modify the working hours for that employee so that a certain period is not available for booking.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
okay, our employee can currently handle 3 customers at the same time - so how can I reduce this for example between 08:00 - 11:00 to 2 persons without creating 30 minutes appointments for every time slot? Any suggestions how to do this easily?
Sorry, but I believe the problem is still not understood...
we HAVE short appointments - 30 minutes for 3 customers at the same time. Amelia allows this, so that one employee can handle 3 customers at the same time, which is quite what we want.
But if one customer books a longer period than 30 minutes (which should be able for specific customers via backend), the slots for the other 2 customers are also for the same time as the first customer booked the period.
In my eyes this is still a bug - which relates of how the time period is handled by Amelia. It is not handled per customer but per event - so Amelia cannot figure out, that 8-11 am is the same as 8.8:30 + 8:30-9:00 + 9:00 - 9:30 and so on. It is creating a new event between 8:00 - 11:00 and all further bookings in this time slot are ignored and overwritten by the longer time period. This also means, that the first customer defines, how long the slot will be when time period is on the frontend and all other settings are ignored. Thats the Bug in my eyes... or I do not understand the design and use case for longer time periods at all.
So what do we want? We want to allow aprox. 3 customers at the same time, but sometimes want limit this to 2 or only 1 customer for a longer period. We can do this in the backend by filling all 30min slots with dummy-customers - but this is quite a time consuming work and Amelia should make us faster, not slower. May we could resources instead for achieving what we want? Any idea is welcome...
So - hope the "problem" is now more clear... and also you can point me to an direction, where we get a good result for us and our customers.

Hello Markus,
Thank you for reaching back out to us.
The only option is to have shorter appointments so that multiple customers can book between 8-11h for example.
Hope this helps you.
