We need to receive SMS when a client books time, so I went to notifications, SMS notifications, appointment approved and when I sent a test SMS to my cell phone, I receive the email notification instead and not the SMS notification.
We need to configure Amelia to notify at least two or maybe three cell phones when a client books.
Test notifications are only for testing purposes. For live bookings, your customers and employee will get the notification. But you can add more additional numbers that will get those notifications in settings/notifications settings like this
Hope this helps.
If you have any more questions please open a new separate ticket for each question and we will gladly help you there.
Sorry Marko, I don't know why this is not clear. Please let me try again.
I went to notifications/employees, chose appointment approved and sent a test SMS to my cell phone from here. Please see screen shot 1 and screen shot 2.
Next, I went to my cell phone to see the message that was generated in the Amelia dashboard by this code:
Hi %employee_full_name%,
You have one confirmed %service_name% appointment at %location_name% on %appointment_date% at %appointment_start_time% - %appointment_end_time%, for %customer_full_name% and %number_of_persons%.
The appointment is added to your schedule.
Thank you, %company_name%
However, what I received in a text, SMS message was the code from the email, NOT the SMS. Please see screenshot 3.
Here is the exact email content Amelia sent me in Text/SMS:
Dear John Doe,
You have successfully scheduled Service Name appointment with Richard Roe. We look forward to seeing you at 143 West Street suite d, New Milford, CT, USA on December 27, 2022 11:49 am.
You friends at the The Fountain PMA
This message is for clients, not Employees!
Please send the fix so I can properly configure Amelia!
Yes, we understand. When you activate the test message you get the same template for employees and for customers. This is how it is with test messages, it is just for testing purposes so that you can confirm that it works. But once you book the real appointment the message will be different.
Can you please book the real appointment from the incognito window with two different numbers and confirm that you will get two different messages?
Marko, this is confusing. Why do you not allow the two Different templates (EMAIL & SMS) to be sent??? All testing should show real messages!!
What is the incognito window? A private browser? What two different numbers? Two of our cell phone numbers? And, how do you suggest I book an appointment? Our site is live and requires cc payment to book.
It is sad that you have a fairly functional plugin, but you have made it extremely difficult to setup correctly. For this reason, I have spent many, many hours "Submitting a Ticket"!
Yes, I agree with you that this should be added and I will forward this ticket to our developers. As for incognito, yes I meant on a private browser. As for the two numbers you can enter a different number that your employee has and check and confirm that you will get 2 different messages. As for payment you can create new test page for booking or change the payment method to on-site just for a minute so that you can confirm that you will get different messages.
The SMS number that you see is our provider's number, (+1 510 822 8123).
The same number that's being used for all Amelia SMS is US-based - so a US carrier Twilio is sending the message. Let us know if you have any further questions.
Actually, I did not ask "but you have actually asked why does that number on top show for your SMS as the "sender number"."
What I did ask in another ticket is:
Our clients have called and complained that after they booked a Real Appointment, the SMS they received from us showed +1 (510) 822-8123. Because there is so much fraud on the internet, our clients will naturally feel suspicious when they see a number they do not recognize.
Our clients NEED TO SEE OUR NUMBER +1 (860) 717-2223
There are 450+ business owners in my FB group waiting for me to approve Amelia
This is quite important.

Hello Marko,
Understood.
The issue is I tested SMS, but got the email template in my text message
went to notifications, but don't see where to add new numbers
Hello Michael,
Yes, that is how test notifications look. We get the same one when we test the notifications. so everything is fine.
We wish you all the best.
Have a great holiday.

Hello Michael,
I'm afraid that we didn't quite get what you want to achieve exactly? Can you explain to us in a little more detail?
We wish you all the best.

I just sent a test sms to employee/appointment approved and still see the 510 phone number. what am I doing wrong???
Hi, Michael
We have confirmation.
The SMS number that you see is our provider's number, (+1 510 822 8123).
The same number that's being used for all Amelia SMS is US-based - so a US carrier Twilio is sending the message.

Please find a work around for this confusing Twilio number our customers see in SMS.
Thank you
Hi, Michael
We are truly sorry, but there is no workaround.
The Amelia SMS is being provided by Twilio, an American SMS provider.
All the SMS messages from Amelia are being sent from the same number,
(+1 510 822 8123), which is our provider.
We have no way of changing the number that the messages are being sent from.
You can only change the "Alpha Sender ID" and that will be the text that they see, but the number of the sender can not be changed.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Kind Regards,
Miloš Jovanović
