We recently had some false reports that the PHP Cron Events have been removed from WP Crontrol.
On WP Crontrol's official page, we then confirmed that is not the case.
They are covered in the FAQ on the same page with instructions on how they are used.
Also, in the "Which users can manage PHP cron events?” section of the same FAQ, they mention a possible reason why users can't see the "PHP Event" radio button (the user you're logged in to WordPress with most likely doesn't have the edit_files capability).
We just installed WP Crontrol onour live testing site (the latest version) and the PHP Cron radio button is there. The command works without issues, and we've received the reminder normally.
Crons are scheduled tasks of the server, so it is not an issue coming from Amelia.
Please make sure you have the latest WP Crontrol version installed;
go through the steps explained in their FAQ section, that is mentioned above, if that does not help, please contact their support for troubleshooting. Since this is not our product.
Thank you.
If you have any more questions please open a new separate ticket for each question and we will gladly help you there.
if to use the reminder function I need a third party plug-in, why don't you give me support for something that Amelia needs to work at its full functionality? In that case you should stop relying on a third party, if there are several reports the best thing you can do is to identify the problem, because your product is harmed by not accessing your reminder function. What a terrible support.
We are sorry that you feel that way, but reminder notifications are sent via cron, and cron is not our product. We cannot identify the issue with cron in general and with WP Crontrol because it is not our product. Nor do we have access to them. In order to send reminder notifications in WordPress, cron is needed and it is set on the server of your hosting provider. Neither of these two is our product, and if something doesn't work on their end, unfortunately, we can't do anything about it at the moment. If something in Amelia is not correct we can investigate and we can help.
Not sure if this helps but I found a solution for this same problem.
One of my security/SSL plug ins had disabled access to the theme file editor. I switched it back on and the php cron option reappeared in WP Crontrol when i added a new event.
Thank you for this, and it is very big of you to share this advice and solutions. Hopefully, other users that have issues with cron can use this and they can resolve their issues.
I wish to configure cron server, but I cannot with create cron event with the pluging wp control php option is not avaible
