I have since updated Amelia to the latest version multiple times and the new version(s) still hasn't fixed my recurring appointment formatting issue in Notifications. I am currently on the latest version 6.2.2 on my staging site and still have this problem
With every update of Amelia, this has not fixed the formatting issue I am having. Since I can't find my original ticket that detailed the issue, I'll re-state it here, with screenshots:
In this first screenshot of the Notification sent to the employee (me), you can see the the list of recurring appointments shows up in a normal and readable way:
But when the EXACT same formatted Notification is sent to the customer (by exact, I mean I copied-pasted the HTML code of the employee notification shown above), this is what the customer sees:
The only difference is this Notification is created under the "To Customer" tab vs. the above. I have tried copy-pasting just snippets of HTML, the entire code for the Notification and the formatted text version. I get the same result each time.
In this example of the Customer Notification, the only properly shown appointment is the first one "April 11, 2023 9:00 AM", I used shortcode %appointment_date_time% to display this. The second line is the shortcode %recurring_appointments_details%, here is a screeshot of how it is setup on my end:
It might seem like a small issue, but the result is I can't schedule (or allow a customer to do so) multiple appointments at once for a client, because the message they will receive is all goofy and confusing and unprofessional. So if I DO schedule multiple appointments, I have to manually email the client with the correct information, which I shouldn't have to do if the formatting was correct.
Thank you for your reply. In a previous ticket I had opened (https://tmsplugins.ticksy.com/ticket/3102988/), that seems to be deleted now (I didn't delete it, not sure where it went), I had been conversing with one of your colleagues. I can't recall exactly, but I think it may have been Uros. He had told me some specific thing to change in the %recurring_appointments_details% HTML short code, which made a difference for the Employee Notifications but not for Customer Notifications, that you can see in my screenshots below. I can't recall what that change was, but in any case, I'm still stuck with this poor formatting for my customers. I don't think it's acceptable to display all the dates/times in one single line without spacing, to use in a professional way.
If you can find out from your colleagues how to fix this, that would be great. Thank you.
This was resolved by Alexandar this was his response then this issue is currently solvable by editing the %recurring_appointments_details% placeholder in HTML mode, like this:
When you change to HTML mode, and add a space at the end (it will be removed after you save the placeholder), then save the placeholder and the notification template, the email will look like this:
Thank you so much for the detailed reply. Yes, now I remember, it was Alexander whom I communicated with about this before. I had mistakenly recalled it being Uros. The solution that Alexander gave me then is exactly what you've detailed below. It fixed it for the Employee Notification, but not for Customer Notification.
Unfortunately, it STILL doesn't format properly when sent to a customer's email address. I have followed the directions Alexander gave exactly...HTML mode to edit the short-code, added the space at the end (even though it disappears after being saved) and saved the Notification template as well. I even added "DateTime: " to the short-code in case that might do the magic trick, lol, but it didn't.
This is what I see from a Customer Notification to an @gmail.com email address:
And this is what I see to an @yahoo.com email address:
If you aren't getting reports of this issue from other Amelia users, maybe there's something wonky on my end. But in any case, I'd really like to get this fixed and working so I can book multiple appts at once and have the notification be clear.
This is how it work by designe, but I will forward this to our level 2 agents and as soon as we get some feedback from them we will contact you immediately.
We just got the feedback from our colleagues and they have told us that you have an old version of Amelia. Please update it and purge the cache and then try again and see if this will work.
This is replying to Marko on this ticket regarding formatting issues for the recurring appointments placeholder:

...where I could not post a private reply, so I've created a new ticket here to do so.

How can I fix this problem once and for all?

Hello Jason,
This is how it works at this time when you set it like this
Customers can see the data in this way
It is still in one row but it looks a little bit better.
I will check with my colleagues if there is some other way but I can not make any promises.
Talk to you soon.
Kind Regards,
Marko Davidovic [email protected]

Hello Jason,
I will forward this ticket to my colleague Uros so that he can check this and see if there is some workaround for this.
We wish you all the best.
Have a nice day.
