I had so far the Lite Version of wpDataTables and have many Tables on a live Site. How can I upgrade to Premium without loosing those tables or interrupting them from showing? According to your instructions I have to deactivate and delete the Lite Version before, but what happens to the tables?
Thank you Miloš, I decided in the meantime to upload the pro Version per FTP, after changing the lite version name in the server and that worked too. That would also allow me to quickly revert, if there was any problem. I'm using the new plugin and all the tables are there and working fine! However, these instructions about the settings should be in the documentation because a lot of people probably upgrade from lite and instructions for that specific upgrade are nowhere to find. Kind regards, Mihu
I am happy to see that you managed the solution that works in the best way for your use-case.

Yes, we have certain articles and documentation about this, but perhaps it is not pointed out in the best way.
I will pass on this feedback and suggestion, we will speak with our management to see about improving the Documentation, and add this detail about saving the tables/settings, for cases when users switch from Lite to Premium and when they wish to save existing data like that.
Thanks again, and of course, please don't hesitate to open new tickets whenever you have any questions or need any help.
Hi Miloš, then everything is wonderful. I don't know how I could have missed these details as I was looking for them, I'm very sorry! Thank you for the excellent support and have a nice day, Mihu.

Hi, Mihu
In order to save all the tables and settings from Lite, before you delete it and move to Premium,
just check that this setting is enabled, in main plugin settings : Prevent deleting tables in database
If you have this enabled, then all your data will be safe in your Database, so nothing to worry about,
then you can remove Lite and install Premium version.
Installation
Let us know how it goes.
Kind Regards,
Miloš Jovanović

Hi, Mihu
We are just following up on this, in the meantime, i have been advised that we actually already have this pointed out in our Documentation.
I was honestly not aware of this, i apologise for my mistake, but it has been like this for a long time,
on this page about Updating wpDataTables.
-
This is also a direct link that automatically scrolls to the section about Updating from Lite to Full version : https://wpdatatables.com/documentation/general/updating-wpdatatables/#lite-to-full
My apologies once again for not pointing that out earlier, i will make a note of it.
Of course, please don't hesitate to reach out to us whenever you have any questions.
Thank you.
Kind Regards,
