    Hello,

I am looking for a way to give a parameter is front-end before chart is generated.

My example: I have a table with 3 columns: country, city, no. of people

I want the user in front-end to select the country and then the graph should plot City/People as bar chart.

Could you recommend a solution for this? Creating a separate chart for each country is not a viable option.

    Thank you,

    Best regards,

    Alexandru

    Hi, Alexandru

Thanks for reaching out to us

    -

I am sorry to disappoint you, but at this time, we don't have a built-in solution to hide a chart before user makes a selection on table filters.

I will elaborate more on what we currently have :

The chart does not follow any table filtering by default,

but if we place the source table on the same page with the chart, we can enable "Follow table filtering" in the Chart Wizard,

then the chart follows any filtering of the table on the same page "on the fly".

    -

For the tables themselves, we have the add-on Powerful Filters with the feature "Hide table before filters are selected",

which hides the table on load,

and makes the user choose one or more filters before the filtered table loads.

Once they choose what you need from the filter, only then would the table load with the filtered data.

    -

But, unfortunately, at this time we still don't have an option/feature like that for the charts,

in terms of hiding the chart before a user chooses one or more filters.

    -

At this time, we don't have a built-in feature to achieve this for charts,

but you can suggest it for our developers - they will do their best to make a solution in the future.

Please feel free to search on our suggestions page

to see if someone may be already suggested this feature. If you can't see it, feel free to add your suggestion there,  and as more people vote, the feature will move higher on the priority list.

    You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like ( it is also available in the plugin dashboard), where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates;

and our newsletter, so you're informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.

    -

If you need a solution for it now, maybe it can be done with a high level of custom work, but I am not sure, to be honest. Our developers are very busy at the moment, working on some priority tasks and fixing bugs and issues with our plugins, so they won't be having the time for custom work in the near future.

We can recommend reaching out to someone who does custom solutions, such as WP Kraken, but we can't advise on their pricing.

    Kind Regards,

    Miloš Jovanović

    Hello Milos,

I will try to use the Follow Table Filter feature that you suggested and see if that leads to what I am looking for.

    Many thanks for your reply,

    Alex

    Hi, Alexandru

You're welcome, i am happy to advise and to help as much as possible.

Just to make sure that the conclusion was clear, to summarize,

the "Follow table filtering" will make the chart react to any filtering, when the table is on the same page,

and you can hide the table to make a user choose filters before the table loads,

    but for charts,

we don't have a way to hide a chart before a user makes a filtering choice at this time, at least not with built-in functionalities we have at the moment.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Thank you
