I'm afraid that we didn't quite get what the issue looks exactly? Can you explain to us in a little more detail, and send us a couple of screenshots? Or even better a short one minute video?
Can you please open your own private ticket and send us temporary admin credentials there so that we do not disturb Kristin on this ticket? Thank you for understanding.
it seems that you are both having the same issue, if you try to Log in existing Amelia SMS account,
or try to Sign Up for a new Amelia SMS account - do you just get a "spinning animation" that stops,
or does not respond at all?
We have recently changed our SMS server, so it is possible that your hosting provider might be blocking our SMS server on your site firewall. Here is what you can do :
First of all, please check if you are using the latest version of Amelia.
( You can always check what is the current latest version on this changeLog page)
if not - please update Amelia and purge all cache from the site.
-
If you activated the purchase code in Amelia Settings/Activation,
the update should be offered in the Plugins section.
On some WordPress installations, you need to deactivate the plugin first in order to see the update offered, so please try that.
If that doesn't work, try going through Dashboard/Updates. See if you can update the plugin through there, and if that doesn't work either, you can follow the manual update procedures in the article linked below:
After that, try logging in the Amelia SMS account again in the Amelia Notifications/SMS Notifications/
( or if you don't have the SMS account yet, hit "Sign up" button),
then try to send a Test SMS Notification to your phone to check if it worked or not.
Please note: SMS often has a status queued but is actually sent.
It is not refreshed automatically.
You have to press the little refresh icon next to the "queued" status, to see the actual message status.
-
If this does not work, can you please reach out to the DevOps of your server (or reach out to your hosting provider, and ask them to ask the DevOps) if they can ping our server?
ping smsapi.wpamelia.com
Also, can they whitelist this IP address: 116.203.87.139?
We look forward to your reply. Thank you
@Tamara, as colleague Marko said - if you try all of this, and the issue is still not resolved, we would need to remotely take a look from your WP-Admin,
but for that you will have to make a new ticket, and there you can send us Admin credentials, but make sure if you do that to either make a PRIVATE ticket, or send reply as PRIVATE.
I am unable to set up SMS notifications
Hello Kristin,
I'm afraid that we didn't quite get what the issue looks exactly? Can you explain to us in a little more detail, and send us a couple of screenshots? Or even better a short one minute video?
We wish you all the best.
