The page with the event on it loads VERY, VERY SLOWLY! (4 or 5 seconds). What can be done to speed up the page load? THIS IS CAUSING ME TO LOSE CUSTOMERS!
You will see that all elements except for the Event load first:
It takes about 2 seconds. The slow load can be caused by a lot of things - the number of appointments you have, the number of customers, the number of employees, etc.
Other than Amelia, it could be caused by the amount of other data you have on the page.
Are you on a dedicated, or on a shared hosting?
Can you increase the php_memory_limit on your site?
If you're not sure how to do that, you can reach out to your hosting provider.
Please check out our demo sites (link) and see how the plugin should behave on a site with dedicated hosting and good server performance.
Marko - Using my google load time measurement tool, 5.78 seconds was the page load time on your business consultancy demo site, events pages, on the first time, then 3 seconds after that. https://consultant.wpamelia.com/events-calendar/
My page, which has many fewer events - only 1 event - took 11 seconds to load. I only have 1 employee, 11 customers, 1 very small logo on the page, and 1 text box at the bottom. I'm on dedicated hosting. Other than trying to increase php_memory_limit, what else can I try?
Also, I increased my php_memory_limit to the max for siteground, which is 512mg, and that lowered it from 11 seconds to load down to 10.2 second. STILL TOO SLOW! What else can I check? THIS IS UNUSABLE!
Can you please re-open this ticket? My page is still scoring D- despite SG Optimizer. Per your suggestion in the ticket, I tested the following, which you said in the ticket would show a better performance. But it showed worse performance in 3 of 4 cases. Can you tell me what else I can try to improve performance?
We apologize for the late reply. In the meantime, your ticket has been forwarded to our developers. Our developers have been very busy redesigning Amelia and fixing the bugs we had, and that's why we're replying to you later than usual. We apologize for that once again. As for speed, they told us the same as we mentioned earlier, Amelia is not SaaS, and speed depends on your hosting package and the number of appointments you have, the number of customers, the number of employees, etc. And we can not influence on the speed since it doesn't depend on us.
If you have any more questions please open a new separate ticket for each question and we will gladly help you there.
We send you a feedback a couple of days ago. It is strange that you did not receive it.

Hello again Kelly,
It is always best to first check how much load you need to put on the page that depends on which server you have and which hosting plan.
Let's say, on https://gtmetrix.com/, when that page is put up, the GIF with the light bulb causes you the most issues:
Of the 20MB resource, that GIF alone is 17.9MB
Then there are the little things like ID Visual CUstomizer - its 375KB JS
So Amelia JS of 317KB, then signup forms, then google tag manager, then siteground optimizer, then elementor, etc.
Another problem is the initial load that waits for 2 seconds for no reason as far as we can see
We don't know what SG Optimizer is like, but WP Rocket should be better.
Then you have chaining requests that mostly come from WooCommerce:
Amelia is also there, but a total of 1295ms compared to 23002ms (total)
The first two are HIGH concern - GIF and initial load
The latter is (as you can see on the screenshot) are medium. Same as this one:
So, that's where Amelia has to load her CSS and that's a total of 454ms out of a total of 3588ms
So Amelia spends 1964ms here. Everything else is something different.
Feel free to go to https://gtmetrix.com/ and test your site, the biggest problem is that GIF, which is 18MB.
You can check what is best for sites but to put Gifs and videos is not recommended because they are very big.
Amelia is loaded almost at the end, so as not to cause conflicts with other scripts, and this is how most plugins work.
Hope that this explains it better.
If you have any more questions please open another ticket and we will gladly help you there.
We wish you all the best.
Have a nice day.
Kind Regards,
