We are working on a website that will do the management of all appointments through Amelia.

But now we need the functionality before the launch date. How do you recommend us to proceed?
Actually we want to manage all events in one place. That's why the first option is to launch a slimmed down version of the future website now, but only for the use of Amelie. This way the plugin would already be installed on the right domain and the existing registrations can be reused directly.

The second variant is that we put the plugin on a separate domain. But this means that we have to migrate the data to the future installation at a later time.

    Hello Patrick,

I'm afraid that we didn't quite get what you want to achieve exactly? Can you explain to us in a little more detail?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Marko

No problem, I will try again:
    The situation is as follows:
We want to manage all events on one website, let's call it event website. But there are other websites that link to the events on the event website. But now the event website is not online yet. Nevertheless, we would like to use Amelia already.

That's why we are interested in the easiest way to manage all events in one place after the event website is published.

For this we see two possibilities:
    1. we put up a slimmed down version of the event website and build out the website there. That is, the events / Amelia plugin will always stay in the same place.
    2. we put the plugin on the website, where we already want to use Amelia. At the time of publishing the event website, we then want to manage all events and participants centrally on the event website. That means we need to migrate the data from one website to the event website.

    Thanks,

    Patrick

    Hello Patrick,

I'm afraid we still don't understand you, unfortunately, but we'll try to help. You cannot have Amelia on multiple sites and have those bookings to be connected for events. Each installation of Amelia works for itself, which means if you have two events on two sites that have a capacity of 15 people, you offer a total of 30 places for booking.

Maybe we misunderstood because of a specific setting. If in fact you want to start with one site and then transfer everything to another site, you can do that. We don't do migration because it is not area of expertise, but we think we can help you.

Other than cloning your website, there's a way to migrate only Amelia's database tables.

There are around 47 tables with wp_amelia_ prefix that need to be moved. Please note that wp_ is the default database prefix, but on your end, it could be anything, so look for your_prefix_amelia_ tables.

Besides that, you also need to go to wp_options and search for option_name "amelia_settings" - that returns one row, so you need to copy the option_value and paste it in the same field on the other site. Note that this contains all info from your old website, so you will need to replace the URLs in this cell.

    Hope this helps.
