I have Amelia up and running on a new site.

On this site, I have the owner who I also have listed as an employee "personal trainer" I would like to give her the power to edit other employees information. I set her up as an Amelia Manager, but then she looses her employee abilities . Is it possible she can be both?

Or should I setup two accounts for her? (one for employee and one for manager) / Or should I use a role manager plugin to limit what she can see in the backend as an manager?

    --update 18 Oct 2022--
I updated this user to Amelia Manager. In the backend or the front end she does not have the ability to modify events other employees are assigned to. Is this by design?

    Hello Robert,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologize for the delayed response as we have been experiencing an unusually high number of tickets. I am sorry that it has taken longer than usual to respond to your concern and your patience is highly appreciated.

In order to allow existing WordPress users to be linked to an employee in Amelia, we recommend installing the "User Role Editor" plugin. It allows you to assign another WordPress user role to an existing user, so if you add the "Amelia Employee" user role to a "Subscriber" (for example), you will be able to link this WP user with the employee in Amelia. Please note - it is not recommended to mix users and roles, so please do not assign any additional user roles to Administrator accounts. Also, we do not recommend adding multiple user roles for Amelia to a single user (Amelia Manager and Amelia Employee, for example). Roles have their own capabilities and if you combine them, the plugin will run into a conflict it can't resolve (a paradox, so to speak).

If you have any further questions or issues, please feel free to open a new ticket, and we'll gladly help.

    Have a nice day!

    Kind Regards,

    Thank you for the response,

My main question is shouldn't an Amelia Manager be able to modify employee events (other than their own)?

Through my experimentation, the user role "Amelia Manager" cannot.

    Thank you,

    - Robert Good.

I figured it out. I had the user initially setup as an employee. I then changed her to an Amelia Manager. This did not cut the mustard.
I created a totally new user with the  'Amelia Manager' role and was able to view and edit all employees.
