I need to block only few hours For example a new customer calls on the phone and i want to block 1am to 2am (without addin their data)
Or a employee is busy with helping someone else for 1 hour. Or extra pause break.
We used the "block" function alot in our old system. Another situation we got is we got 2 students on 1 day , but we cant have them both booked at the same time So i would like to "block" their times 1 is bookable at the full hours ( 1 AM) 1 is bookable at the half hour ( 1:30 am) Blocking would be great
A "blocking" feature doesn't exist in Amelia, but please feel free to add it to our feature suggestions page.
At the moment, you would be able to create a Special Day for the employee and create two booking periods for one day. For example:
In the example above, the employee would work from midnight until 1:00 am, and then there would be a break until 2:00 am.
Another option would be to link your employees to their Google Calendar. After enabling the "Remove Google Calendar busy slots" in Settings/Integrations/Google Calendar; when the employee creates a busy event in Google to block the times that need to be blocked, Amelia will no longer offer the blocked time slots to the customers.
I also find the process of configuring the google calendar with Amelia to be lengthy and arduous. As I am a health practitioner, and not a web technician, I find this process is too complex. https://wpamelia.com/configuring-google-calendar/ If I had of known there was so many things like this to set up and configure earlier, it is likely that I would not have chosen Amelia. I would like to see features like this made easier for the end user/clients of Amelia to configure and integrate features like this.
We will be looking into making this integration configuration simpler in the future, but I can't say when that will be.
If I recall correctly, the last time this was brought up, we were informed that the only way this could have been made simpler (at this point of development) would be for our company to create a Google App and share that with all Amelia users, but that would make the Google Calendar Integration a paid add-on, as having thousands of users on a single app is not free.
Also, you and all other Amelia users would be connecting to "Amelia", not your business. There are a lot of customers that don't want to allow that, and even more customers that would assume we'd have access to their personal/professional calendars and accounts (even though that wouldn't be the case).
In the end, this is a simple procedure with multiple steps that you do only once, and if you follow either the video tutorial or follow the documentation, you should get it done within 15 - 20 minutes.
Hi
I need to block out time away in my amelia booking calendar.
Can you please help show me how to do this??
So far the only way I can see to do this is to create fake bookings.
I need to block out a couple of weeks.
I look forward to hearing from you
Thank you
Gemma
Hello Gemma,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
For that purpose, you could set those dates on the "Days off" tab for the employee.
Hope this helps you.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Kind Regards,
Uros Jovanovic

Thanks
These are both useful.
I will try out the enabling the "Remove Google Calendar busy slots" in Settings/Integrations feature.
