Hello, I've got a question about the sorting feature on wpDataTables.
Is there an option to have sorting based on a custom list you provide rather than just alphabetical? For example, if I want to sort a list accordingly based on "Great, okay, bad" rather than "Bad, great, okay" (alphabetical).
to see if someone may be already suggested this feature. If you can't see it, feel free to add your suggestion there, and as more people vote, the feature will move higher on the priority list.
You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like ( it is also available in the plugin dashboard), where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates;
and our newsletter, so you're informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.
I am sorry, the answer i gave you is , if you meant to make custom sorting for the values in the cells.

But if you maybe need to set custom sorting of values for filtering of a column, for example selectbox/multiselectbox,
then I can show an example how you can set the order in which the filter values will show.
-
- You can also split the values up individually, to use in a filter, even if they are pulled together in the same cell,
here is an example.
The table pulls the values from all cells, so even if you have multiple values together in one cell, it sees it as a unique value.
What you can do is open this column's settings, go to the Data tab. In there, change "Possible values for column" from "Read from table on page load" to "Define values list":
Then, in the "Values list", manually input the individual values that should be included in this column, and that's it. It should allow you to select each value on the filter, as an individual selection.
; here is the resulting filter multiselectbox of this example:
If you need more details, please contact us for further info. Thanks.
My use case is: I have a column that contains a bunch of “great, okay, bad, good, great, okay”. I would like to be able to sort the column based on “great, okay, bad”, not alphabetically.

Hi, Ryle
Thanks for reaching out to us
I am sorry to disappoint you, but currently, for our String Type Columns, the sorting can only be alphabetical.
We can only choose the direction ( ascending, or descending).
But this might be a good suggestion for the future, so
please feel free to search on our suggestions page,
