This page displays from an Excel file which I upload. Do a filter search on "breed" for "poodle (toy)". It gives zero results. However, if you do just a text search on the word "Martini" you will see that dog display as a poodle (toy).
The filter displays zero results on any breed which has a parenthesis or an asterisk.
I also tried saving my file as a csv, and that produced the same, incorrect results.
Please provide me a temporary WP-admin (administrator) user for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue.
We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.
You can write credentials here just check PRIVATE Reply so nobody can see them except us.
and test the special characters for server-side and non-server-side tables when using filters.
- Our developers believe the issue has been resolved with this fix, but please take a look.
Please note that you will need to disable "Use minified JS" in the wpDataTables settings/Custom JS and CSS tab, and make sure to purge all cache of the site in the end.
Let me know if this resolves the issue for you ( at least temporarily).

Hello Kyra,
Thank you for providing us with the credentials.
Our developers have made something very close to a permanent fix - but still not there exactly yet.
Apologies for the inconvenience.
Here is a temporary fix that you can try.
Please download the attached JS file.
Copy this into the plugins folder on your FTP, in this path :
/wp-content/plugins/wpdatatables/assets/js/wpdatatablescolumnFilter.js
and test the special characters for server-side and non-server-side tables when using filters.
