just installed, first question: is it possible to perform queries and show data on an external MySql database (different than the WP one, but on the same server) . Upon the documentation it doesn't seem to be possible, (or I can't find it) but I would like to be sure. Thanks.
Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologize for the delayed response as we have been experiencing an unusually high number of tickets. I am sorry that it has taken longer than usual to respond to your concern and your patience is highly appreciated.

Yes, we have Multiple DB engine connections support (MySQL, MS SQL, Postgre SQL).
Whether the external database is on the same server or not,
as long as it is not the WordPress database, you can add it as a separate DB connection.
If you input all the relevant credentials for the DB connection, ( such as host, port, password, and so on),
then go for the "Test connection" button. If the Test is successful, your plugin will be able to create datatables on this DB.
Additionaly, you can set this DB connection as default,
but you will also have a dropdown selection for all available DB connections that you added,

during table creation wizard.
