We would like to use Amelia for our new client who is taking bookings for appointments for chimney sweep services.
The offer an appointments at:
10am, 12pm or 2pm
Customers can choose how many chimneys they need cleaning. from 1 to 6.
So if someone chooses 1 or 2 chimneys at 10am that is fine.
If they pick 3 or more, we want to take the booking but the 12pm appointment will be automatically blocked as is no longer available. Then if they pick 5 or 6, the 2pm appointment is also automatically unavailable.
Can we configure this in Amelia - we would love to use it for this website.
You can try to achieve this with extras option. You can set up the time slot for one hour, and you can add extras to that service for example: if your appointment is by default one hour but the client wants an appointment of two or three hours he can add one or two extras (one or two appointments for one hour) to the default appointment. By selecting these extras, your Customers will be able to change the Service duration to 2-3-4 hours.
Thanks very much for your response. I would just like to clarify...
So, is it possible to give a name to the extras, for example: 'numbers of chimneys'?
Therefore if we create a 10am appointment with a choice for the customer to select 1 chimney, 2 chimneys, 3 chimneys, 4 chimneys, 5 chimneys, 6 chimneys.
Then if they select 3 or 4 chimneys it will block out the 12pm appointment automatically? And if they select 5 or 6 it will also block out the 2pm appointment to prevent any further bookings?
I am just looking at the demo back end and have another question. We don't want customers to have to pay for their appointment upfront as until the work is carried out, it is not always possible to know how much the service will cost.
Is it possible to allow bookings without a cost. The invoice total will be calculated and payment taken after the service is carried out so Amelia does not need to keep track of money. We just want the timeslot to be booked online.
When you have several questions or issues, please open a new ticket, and we will help you there. In that way, issues and questions which are related to different subjects will be in separate tickets so other customers or our support agents can find them easily.
Our policy is to have one issue or question per ticket because of the reasons that are described already.
Thank you for understanding.
Yes, to both questions. The durations of extras are calculated in the time of appointment and they can choose how many chimneys and they can ad the durations like we mentioned. Also, you can set that the price is 0 and your customers wouldn't see the payment option. That way you can determine the price on the spot.
If you have any more questions please open another ticket and we will gladly help you there.

Ok, thank you Marko. That's very helpful and I understand why you would prefer the tickets to be posted separately.
I do have one more question related to the zero pricing so I will ask that in a new ticket :)
Best wishes,
Alex
