I think, since the last Amelia update, there is no possibility to make a booking on my client's website. The "Continue" button, after clicking on it, gets disabled and loads for ages - please see the screenshot attached.
Your fast action will be very much appreciated. I can give you the admin login details if required.
Firstly my sincerest apology for the waiting time.
- I have done some testing, and for some reason, still if i try to access this advanced page ( even as Administrator), to see beyond the error 500 - i get 403 forbidden access, which is a bit odd.
If you wish to check why this error 403 happens :
The 403 Forbidden Error happens when the web page (or another resource) that you’re trying to open in your web browser is a resource that you’re not allowed to access. It’s called a 403 error because that’s the HTTP status code that the webserver uses to describe that kind of error.
You usually get this error for one of two reasons. The first is that the owners of the webserver have properly set up access permissions and that you’re really not allowed access to the resource. The second reason is that the owners of the webserver have improperly set up permissions and you’re getting denied access when you really shouldn’t be.
You need to contact your hosting provider because you have an issue with your permissions.
Once you do that, this error should go away.
-
But, i discover something else.
I thought, what if this is a conflict between Amelia and another plugin.
Then i disabled all plugins, and only left Amelia active -
very quickly, just to make a little test - and now the booking works!
So, it seems this might be a conflict with another plugin after all.
Here is what you can try :
please deactivate all other plugins except for our plugin,
purge all cache of the site, then the booking will work.
Then, to isolate the exact plugin that causes the conflict -
start activating other plugins one by one, and after each activation refresh the page to see if the issue comes back.
Once it does reoccur, you will have found the plugin causing the issue.
-
Please let me know if you isolated the conflict; and i will keep a lookout for your reply.
I have made a copy of the website and tried to make a booking on a local server. It worked right away without doing anything. I hadn't deactivated any plugins, it just worked. So, does this mean it has something to do with the server and should I contact the hosting company in that regard?
Now i am able to see more details on this error 500 that happens when we press "Continue" to pick time slots of any service on the page.
This is the error message :
Fatal error: Unknown: Cannot use output buffering in output buffering display handlers in Unknown on line 0
To be completely honest, i never saw this before personally, but i am sure that our developers will be able to help us isolate the issue.
-
I will pass all the details to them, and they will take another look at this.
They might not need this, but it might save us some time,
at some point they might need to take a look at your WP database, and FTP, so
would you be able to provide us with a staging site, along with WP-admin (Administrator) user, FTP, and the database, so our developers can debug the plugin, and see what's going on?
If you're not able to provide us with a staging site, can you clone your website?
If yes - I'll ask you to install the Duplicator plugin. It will generate a couple of files that you can send me (along with the log-in credentials), and then I can create an exact copy of your website, see what the issue is and try to resolve it.
The Duplicator plugin can export only up to 500MB of data, so if your site is bigger than that, please use the All-in-One WP Migration plugin.
Please note that the files will be too large to attach to the ticket, so you can upload them via wetransfer.com and just send me the link.
( If you send us any of that, please make sure to check reply as Private)
I just checked again today, unfortunately I still don't have response from our developers about this issue.
They have been swamped with work for the entire past week - but I will do my best to push this issue on high priority with them, and to get some new informations.
Unfortunately, I am not sure at all if switching hosting providers will resolve the issue.
I would not rule it out, I do agree with you, at this point it does seem logical to think that - but I don't wish to guess anything until our developers take a closer look - so I don't want to give you wrong advise.
We will do our best to provide an update as quickly as possible.
I was thinking about switching the hosting providers because the booking system works perfectly on my server but it doesn't work on the current one. But I'm going to wait a bit more until the developers have found the source of the issue.
On the other hand, my client has been losing business and I would really appreciate your as quick as possible reply with a solution.
I will see if we can get the developer's assistance in the next 24 hours or so - I will do my best to get this on the absolutely highest priority, since you've already been waiting and the client is losing business.
We will get back with more information as quickly as possible.
I am happy to hear that this fix works for you, that is awesome!
I will pass this to our developers, they will be glad to know.
Regarding the question, if the 64 MB of PHP Memory limit will be enough in the future, I will check with our developers.
Generally speaking, the PhP Memory limit will depend on other resources on your site, as well as Amelia, depending on how many new customers/appointments/services and other data you might add in the future,
but I will double-check , and I will let you know what they advise.

Hi again,
Did you have a chance to look into the issue? It's kind of urgent and I would appreciate it if you could check that as soon as possible.
Many thanks and kind regards,

Hi, Richard
I am just following up - our developers are investigating the issue today,
they are checking every possible detail - there are certain errors, only on the live site, strangely not on the Staging version,
so far we have still not found the exact root of the issue,
but i am checking with them intensively, and they are working on it with high priority.
I will keep you posted with any new information that we get.
Thank you.
