Does your plugin support table allocation? I've explored the backend demo and could not find it myself.
We have shops with a set number of tables (like a restaurant) and we are looking for customers to book a table at our shop anytime throughout the day. The system should allow overlapping bookings on different tables. These bookings can also be staggered (so one customer can book a table 1pm to 3pm, and another can book 2pm to 4pm).
Apologies if this functionality is in-built in the plugin and I could not find it.
Unfortunately, currently, this feature is not built-in in Amelia.
But yes, Amelia can be used for restaurant table booking.
We don't have an option for displaying the table plan, but you can create tables in the place where our employees are, and give customers the option to pick one of the tables.
You can also set minimum and maximum capacity for each table and disable the option "Allow booking below minimum capacity".
We made this option for this kind of use case since it works in the way that once some customer books above minimum capacity it automatically closes this time slot for the particular table so other customers (that don't know each other) can not fill in the table until the maximum capacity is reached.
Please just be aware that at the moment each employee (table) would need a different email set in the profile but there is a workaround if you plan to use Gmail or Outlook mail.
Thank you for your response. We don't mind using some kind of workaround as you describe. We also don't need a table plan. However I have two concerns with using employees as tables.
Ideally we would like the customer to choose a date/time first, and then choose from the available employees (tables). However your demos show the customer picking the employee first before picking the date. This would result in customers having to go through each table to check availability for their chosen day/time. Is there a way around this?
Secondly, we are looking to have multiple locations. Each location is run by a location manager, and we would like them to view appointments for only their location. Will using employees as tables affect our ability to define user roles in this way?
You can hide the employee choice option, that way they will choose a service, that is, if there is only one service, the calendar will be shown to them immediately. In this way, it will not be known for which table they are booking and it may happen that several unknown people book the same table, but you can hide choose employee option.
You can buy our license and try Amelia out. We offer a 15-day money-back guarantee, and in that period of time, you test everything and see if Amelia fits your needs.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.
