I need a way to see the attendee codes for event bookings in the backend as currently I cannot find these codes yet I am able to send them to clients via email. Here is some clarity on why I need to see these attendee codes in bookings in the backend:
I am aware there is no gift voucher option in Amelia but I made a workaround -
I created an event called Gift Voucher and set its date to the last day of the year the voucher can be purchased. I then setup a custom email notification for that specific event (ie gift card purchase) to use the following shortcode for generating a voucher number:
Voucher Code: %attendee_code%
When my client receives an email to say a booking has come in for a new Gift Voucher they note this code and manually create a coupon pasting in the %attendee_code% as the gift voucher code and then they enter in the voucher value based on whatever the customer purchased. Each voucher needs to be manually created which is a pain but the system works. However, the business email went down when my client changed to use microsoft 365 - they did not notify me of this change and the SMTP details were incorrect for a few weeks before I got to the bottom of it. Thus no emails got sent and now there are Gift Voucher purchases but I cannot access the %attendee_code% to manually generate the coupons for usage by the customers.
Is there currently a way form to see these codes in the website? if not is there a way I can resend admin emails for this event booking as there are about 15 gift vouchers purchased and people cannot use them in the website.
Unfortunately, there is no way to recover those notifications so that you can see these coupons. You can cancel the "appointment" for those attendees and confirm them again.
This way they will get the new mail with the new code. Only thing is that you will have to notify them that the old coupon is not longer valid and that they have to use the new one.
It is far from ideal but this is the only way that we can think of that will help you.
Oh that is a shame - I will see can my client ask these people to send them their gift card codes as a temporary measure so that we can at least avoid them needing to repurchase.
Do you have any recommendation on another piece of info that would automatically assign them a unique code each time and that I would be able to use for vouchers and see the codes in backend? I just think its a great workaround for the gift voucher requests for Amelia until there is a better system in place that will be able to handle gift cards in the future.
Maybe we didn't understand each other, you don't have to ask them to buy again, it's enough to click on the green circle and then on the red one to cancel the "appointment" and then immediately click on the green again to approve it and they will automatically receive a new email with the new code that you set up. If we understood your settings correctly it should work.
As for gift vouchers we don't have gift vouchers but we have an option for creating discount codes. These codes can be set and sent automatically in our notifications after the customer schedules X number of appointments or you can give on some other way to your customers. More about our coupons you can read here (below the "Payments" part).
Hello I tried cancelling each booking then reapproving but got no emails! can you please look at my website to see why no new email arrived? I went to the event then to the attendee and cancelled the attendee. Then reconfirmed - no email was sent to the email connected to Amelia
An issue with email notifications could be caused by several reasons:
Your hosting provider is blocking all 3rd party settings and only allowing their SMTP (or other) settings.
Your website has a PHP version of less than 7.
The credentials are not correct.
There's something else blocking the notifications from being sent.
If you're using Gmail, please check out this article for detailed setup instructions.
Please check these points, and let me know if you were able to resolve the issue. If you're still not able to resolve the issue, we'll need to remote into your website, and see what's going on.
