Regarding checking when the Events close for booking;  i will give you an example.

Let's say if we create  an Event from 13th > until 17 August , and if we leave the "default" setting that "Booking closes when the event starts" :

Then the booking will be closed at the same time when the Event starts.

But, let's say if you wish to set custom time when the booking ends. We will set it to close the day before the Event starts :

In any case, you can always see, on each Event, there is this tab : Booking Closes.

And that is how you can check it.
