Is there any way to use Highcharts instances that aren't directly supported on your platform (but are implemented in Highcharts)? In particular, I'm hoping to use a Box Plot -- shown here: https://www.highcharts.com/demo/box-plot
If not, I'd like to formally request this.
In case you're interested, these box charts are extremely useful for revealing the median, 25th percentile and 75th percentile data points for a data set.
I am sorry to disappoint you, but unfortunately, something like this is not possible.
Only charts coded into wpDataTables can be used in wpDataTables.
Please feel free to add this as a feature suggestion on this page. Our developers are checking this list every week and they create their "to-do" priorities based on the number of votes found on that page. Hopefully, with enough votes from our customers, this chart type will be included in wpDataTables at some point in the future.
