Hi First build with Amelia, but missing some possibilities. I only need to reserve a room, no employee is connected to the service. But I can't see a way to avoid this?
And there's no payment either. In the old form it doesn't seem to be needed, but in version 2 I can't disable it?
Amelia's services can not function without an employee. Every service needs to have an employee assigned to it so that it can be booked.
We have integration with several payment systems such as: PayPal, Mollie, Stripe and WooCommerce and Razorpay. You can use any of them. Payment methods needs to be set up in Amelia/setting/payments and also in services/edit service settings/payments.
The inability to create a service without an employee is a problem for me. As this is for booking of a meeting room, there's no need to assign an employee to the booking. If I at least could add a default employee, that would spare the client from picking one in the list.
I dont' need a payment option, I want to get rid of it. In the old version it would automatically be disabled if no payment type is added. This is not the case in version 2. That's not an imporvement.
Apologies, we didn't understand the goal straight away. Thank you for clarifying it.
Yes, the new Step Form is still in Beta stage, but we carefully follow all the feedback from our users - then our devs apply changes as quickly as possible, according to what most of the users ask for.

1.
Regarding a service without employee:
An employee is needed for Amelia booking to have a provider of a service - but as you see, you can hide this from the front-end customers.
In the back-end you can make a dummy employee, and name him anything, like "meeting room 1".
And you can change label from Employee to be "Meeting room".
Then if you have multiple rooms, customer can see "choose a meeting room", instead of "choose an employee".
Or ,you could completely hide employee selection from customers.
If you go to Amelia Customize, select New form /Steps/ Services / Options
There you will find the field for Employee - simply remove it from the booking, then your customers will not see the employee.
2.
In the new Form, for completely removing the Payment step, we had several users who already requested this.
We have placed this as a task for developers to make a built-in option.
to see if someone may be already suggested this feature. If you can't see it, feel free to add your suggestion there, and as more people vote, the feature will move higher on the priority list.
You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like, where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates;
and our newsletter, so you're informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.
-
For the time being, i can at least give you this workaround CSS that you can use on the booking page; to hide the payment completely.
-
This can be done with some custom CSS.
On my Test site, i have done it by adding this to the booking page :
-
To remove the "Payment step HTML DIV" from showing,
Custom code needs to be applied to the page where the booking form is. Depending on what you're using (Gutenberg blocks, or some page builder), adding the CSS or JS can be done in a few different ways.
If you need help with adding custom CSS to the page, please take a look at this article.

Let me know how it works on your end, and if you have any questions.
No apology needed, but glad you caught it. This is support I can work with. :)
This seems to be enough for me now, I can get a functioning solution out of this.
I had already figured out how to make a dummy employee, but I still had to choose both the service AND the employee. Even when naming them both something else, it's still an extra, unnecessary element that makes it confusing.
We will do our best to be as quick as possible, and of course, to provide the most effective support going forward.
- I understand exactly what you mean, it is one thing to change labels, make dummy employees,
but another to completely remove that unnecessary step from the booking, to just make it "cleaner" and easier for users.
- That sounds like a plan. Please try my workarounds, and let me know if everything works;
or if anything does not go as planned on your end, then i will go "back to the drawing board" a bit, and we will find alternate workarounds wherever possible;
( at least until the devs make better user-friendly options )
