We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!
We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.
You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.
While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.
We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.
Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!
Hi. We are looking into using amelia for online courses. Is there an option for customers paying by donations?
Thanks, Daryl
Hi, Daryl
Thanks for reaching out to us

At this time, we, unfortunately, don't have a built-in option for donation-based payments.
Please feel free to search through our feature suggestion page,
to see if someone may be already suggested this feature. If you can't see it, feel free to add your suggestion there, and as more people vote, the feature will move higher on the priority list.
You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like, where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates;
and our newsletter, so you're informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.

I can only try to offer you an idea of a workaround - i can't guarantee it will work perfectly, but you can try.
This will be a "workaround idea" for Events.
We can change the label, so someone who comes to the Event can give donations as cash, in-person.
Amelia will treat it as free, so no payment will be recorded into Amelia, if that makes sense, but you can indicate in the Event description, or we can change the label to not say "free", but to say "donation", in the Customize section, like this:
So if we make a free Event, zero price;
And we set payment to be on-site;
Then change the label in Amelia Customize section,
instead of "free", maybe something like "donation based" ( or anything else) :
It would be like that, and then someone can give donations as cash.
-
But if you need the customer to pay online, and to "set a donation amount",
unfortunately, it is still not possible for a customer to edit the price.
-
The only idea i have for that,
you can try using WooCommerce integration with Amelia, and i can see some add-ons for Woo, they claim that they have feature for customer to choose the amount for donation.
I found this one here;
and another one here.
They claim this is possible with their add-on :
"Accept donations in woocommerce with amount specified by the client, so they can donate any amount they wish .
Donation can be shown as a usual woocommerce product or on the “cart”
Possibility to have predefined amount or a free-entry amount "
-
But we have not tested anything like this yet, so you can try if you wish, but i can not guarantee it will work.
We can only guarantee the core integration with the main WooCommerce plugin.
-
I hope that this helps.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Kind Regards,
Miloš Jovanović
