Importing Google Sheets

    Hi

I have been trying out various Google Sheet to wordpress widgets / software, including yours.

WP Live Table Sync allow you to try it out through a demo site and things were looking good. It allows you to import the format of the google sheet as well as the data. Unfortunately what it doesnt do is keep cells that are merged. The sheets I use have merged cells.

I tried your demo, but unfortunately it doesnt allow trying Google Sheets. Which is fair enough. However, it means I cannot see if it does the three things I NEED your software do..... Sync the sheets every couple of minutes or so, Import the google sheets and keep the format of the google sheet and Import the sheets whilst maintaining the merged cells.

    Thanks

    Hi, Graham

    Sorry for the delayed answer

    -

Our Lite version is quite limited, yes.

But we have this Demo which you can use to try out linking to Google Sheets on this link.

    This Demo has full capabilities of the plugin;

and we also is a 15-day money-back guarantee period, So if you purchase the plugin, you can safely fully test it out, and if it doesn't fit your needs you can request and receive a refund in that period. ( same goes for all plugins and add-ons)

I am sorry to disappoint you, but i have to point out that merging cells is only available in our Simple tables at this time, it is not available for any other table type.

We only have Row Grouping available - please check it out on this documentation.

I will also give you general information about working with Google Spreadsheets with our plugin,

there are two ways how you can use them :

    1. Link the table to Google Spreadsheets, when you modify or add new rows, the plugin will show those changes within 15 minutes (since there's cache on Google's side). More details here

If you don't want to face any issues with cache, you can use the Google Sheets API method. ( more details here-)

    2. If you import the file, the plugin reads the source file and creates a manual table. Once the table is created, it is no longer linked to the source file, so changing data in the table will not show up on Google Spreadsheet, and vice-versa. To modify this table, you can either switch to the Excel-like view, and then select and copy the range of cells you want to paste from the source file, and paste it in the Excel-like view, or you can save the new rows as a CSV file without headers, find the manually created table in the database, and import it through there. (more details here )

Let me know how that sounds, and if you have further questions. Thanks

    Kind Regards,
