1. First, you need to configure your employee's work hours so the employee works in two time periods (from 00:00 - 11:00 and from 16:00 - 24:00), like this:
Then, you need to edit the service and set its duration to 19 hours. In order to be able to add this duration, the "Default Time Slot Step" in Amelia's General settings needs to be a time with which 19h is dividable by, so either 30 minutes or 1 hour. Also, you should enable "Use service duration for booking a time slot" in General Settings. Once you configure the "Default time slot step" to be (for example) 1 hour, refresh the Services page, edit the service, and set the duration to be 19h, like this:
On the front-end your customers would see this:
In order to block flat reservation on certain days, you can either add "Days Off" to the employee's profile or in Amelia Settings/Working Hours & Days Off section.
2. At the moment, Amelia can't provide different prices based on the number of booked days. On top of that, your customers wouldn't be able to book multiple time slots at once unless you create a package and set a different price for the package. The issue here is that, with the package, the customers are not forced to book several days in a row but they would be able to book multiple days that are not linked, so I don't believe this will work for you. Have you considered using events?
We will work on adding flexible pricing depending on the day (and the time in the day) in the future, but there's no ETA for that yet.
Amelia is not created for hotel/hostel bookings, so it's still not fully compatible with that use case. We'll work on it also, but we can't say when it will be included.
I am delighted to hear that this has been resolved. Thank you for letting us know. Anything else that we could assist with, please don't hesitate to create new tickets.
Hello.
I'm setting up WP Amelia for a customer who has special needs, and there are several of his demands that I don't see how to satisfy.
1/ Reservation duration
My customer rents a flat, from 16h to 11h the next day.
I can't see a way to do that, since :
- the service settings lets me choose only between durations of 8h, 16h or 24h, so none fits...
- in the general settings, the max duration for a service is 8h...
Also, there is no way to make a reservation from a certain day to a certain quantity of days later ?
We can't let users make an apartment reservation from, for example, the 12th of June to the 19th of June ?
2/ Price change according to duration and date
My customer would like the price of the rent to adapt according to
- the total duration : renting 7 days would be cheaper than renting 1 day
- the moment of the week : renting a monday would be cheaper than renting a saturday
I see no way to do that with Amelia, right ?
No way to make a reservation system for an hotel ?
At first I thought I could use Amelia to make a reservation system for a hotel but actually it's not possible, right ?
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Regards,
Ludovic

Hi, Ludovic
As my senior colleague Aleksandar pointed out, we will do our best to develop better functionality for these types of scenarios for the future;
but at this time we absolutely understand if you find a better suited plugin for that particular purpose.
Thank you very much, and if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Hi, don't worry I'm not pissed off :-)
I've used Amelia on some other use cases - like, for a teacher - and then it worked perfect.
I've written a guide of Amelia in french, saying it was the best booking plugin I knew. And since then I've added an affiliation link...
