I am trying to use a data source that requires authentication (JSON) and see that it is something you are potentially adding in the last update. I don't see this feature and it is necessary for me to use your plugin. Do you have any update on this?
Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologize for the delayed response as we have been experiencing an unusually high number of tickets. I am sorry that it has taken longer than usual to respond to your concern and your patience is highly appreciated.

I am not aware that we have any authentication functionalities being developed at this moment, but i will make sure to double-check with senior Team, and the developers;
This is all of the details we have on using JSON at this time, if you didn't already, you can check it out here;
Important note : When working with JSON format please note: Currently, wpDataTables accepts this, and only this, format of JSON (see example): a one-level array of same-structured objects where each object will be parsed as a row, and each field inside of the object as a cell. If your software does not return this format, you would need to prepare, as an example some PHP adapter to return one of the formats that wpDataTables would accept.

As soon as i get confirmation if we have any authentication functionalities being developed, or planned, i will come back to confirm that for you.
They did not yet complete the work to add authentication for JSON;
but our developers definitely have this in their scope for the future. They will try to add this feature as soon as possible. I am not able to promise an ETA at this time, though.
You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you'd like, ( it is also available in the plugin dashboard),
where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates;
and our newsletter, so you're informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.

Hi, Adam
I just want to sincerely apologise for all the waiting time.
The developers did not have proper access for couple of days, so they were not available for assistance.
I am expecting them to respond now fairly quickly. As soon as i get confirmation, i will report back straight away.
Thank you for your patience.
Kind Regards,
Miloš Jovanović
