Some of my tables use markdown. I know Wordpress supports it, at least their default post/page editor. Can't your plugin interpret the markdown?

wpDataTables doesn't have an option to interpret markdown, but as far as we can see there are plugins that render it on posts and pages. We're not sure, though, for server-side since it's rendered after everything and there's a big possibility that it won't work.
