How to turn off mandatory fields in appointments

    Hi,

We are using Amelia for bookings and appointment management in our beauty salon. The plugin is (or could be) wonderful, but a few things are driving us nuts.

We have walk-in customers that we need to add to the appointments immediately, but some don't want us to ask for their details. Yet, the customer field is mandatory when creating a new appointment, putting us through an extra hoop, when time is of the essence.

Also, our workers sometimes need a break (outrageous), so we need to add the breaks to the calendar, so no one can book them while they are on a break. We had to create different services like 15m break, 30m break, etc and have to create appointments now with these services to actually manage to add a break. On top of it, we also must select a customer when adding a break should really be only a click or two.

It would be great if we could just create a break/walk-in appointment and select the duration (instead of a service that's also mandatory), and the employee dynamically and just name the appointment.

Another annoying thing is that when we are in day view and click new appointment, the date and time come up empty, while it's quite obvious we want it to happen on the day we are viewing it. Double-clicking a slot on the calendar or timeline should start a new appointment with the time and date fields already filled in.

Furthermore, the timeline view doesn't show available employees, only those who already have appointments, therefore denying us the option to quickly oversee every employee's timeline. (it would also be great to see employees at the end of the employee list who are having a day off in case we quickly need to rearrange a day because of a dropoff)

Is there any setting that we are missing that would enable us to change these things?

    Hello Krisztian,

     Thank you for contacting us.

When you have several questions, issues or suggestions , please open a new ticket, and we will help you there.

In that way, issues and questions which are related to different subjects will be in separate tickets so other customers or our support agents can find them easily.

Our policy is to have one issue or question per ticket because of the reasons that are described already.

    Thank you for understanding.

Unfortunately, all fields marked with an asterisk cannot be skipped and turned off. When creating a customer, you must enter First and Last Name

And when creating an appointment you have to choose the customer, service, employee, date and time

As for the "It would be great if we could just create a break/walk-in appointment and select the duration (instead of a service that's also mandatory), and the employee dynamically and just name the appointment." -

I'll kindly ask you to add it as a feature suggestion on this page.

Features are pushed up on our "to-do" list when there are a lot of customers requesting those features, so having your vote as a customer can be beneficial to this feature being developed sooner.

Unfortunately, we can't change that for now. Amelia is designed that way, but we will forward your suggestions to the right sector.

You haven't missed the settings, only these specific features are not possible for now. Please leave all the suggestions you have for improvement on this page, and we will certainly pass them on to the right sector.

If you have any more questions please open another ticket and we will gladly help you there.

    Have a nice day.

    Kind Regards,
