I'm new to the website building world but have an idea that I would like to publish. In order to best display my information, I would like to create a dynamic table where users can choose 2-3 items to compare side by side. I've noticed that this is commonly used on consumer websites where the consumer is comparing items that they want to purchase. I, however, am not selling anything. I'm actually just comparing the benefits of 12 different companies. Is there a way I can build this with wpDataTables? I know nothing about code so I'd like to avoid having to learn it if possible.
Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologize for the delayed response as we have been experiencing an unusually high number of tickets. I am sorry that it has taken longer than usual to respond to your concern and your patience is highly appreciated.
We have an article that explains various ways how you could create comparison tables.
Apologies, i forgot to add, these examples i sent you, are for static tables.
You mentioned you need users to be able to select from multiple companies, and then get dynamic results.
For example, if you wanted to create something like on this page, we got comparison of some phones:
Something like this is not possible with one table, but you would be able to create 2 or 3 (or more) identical tables (you can use the duplicate function, to duplicate the table), and then add all 3 tables next to each other.
So, basically the page would have 3 containers and each container would hold one wpDataTable. The drop-down would filter per a hidden column so only one or two columns would be displayed and they would contain the data associated with one phone.
The 1st (hidden) column would need to contain the phone model in each row, so something like this:
This way, when the model is selected in the filter above, only the data related to this phone would be displayed. You would also need to purchase and install our add-on Powerful Filters in order to hide the table before filtering is applied.

Hello Brandon,
Thank you for showing interest in our plugin.
Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologize for the delayed response as we have been experiencing an unusually high number of tickets. I am sorry that it has taken longer than usual to respond to your concern and your patience is highly appreciated.
We have an article that explains various ways how you could create comparison tables.
Can you please check it out on this page?
The easiest tables to make are our Simple tables. You can check them out on this documentation page.
And here are more examples of what kind of tables you can make here.
And let me know how all that seems. We will be here if you have any further questions. Thank
Kind Regards,
