Hi, we need to add a "Middle Name" field between the First and Last Name fields in our Amelia Booking forms. I've looked into adding custom fields, but these go below the default field placement.

How may we edit the field name for "First Name" so it reads "First & Middle Name" if adding a separate "Middle Name" field is not possible?

    Thank you.

(First part is from before I read your whole comment ;)

Hi, I have nothing to do with amelia, but the first quick fix to this before they tell you to suggest this on their other site, is to rename "First name" to "First- and middle name:" to save you the hassle, because its not that important. I would much more prefer a "Full name" option, but the customizing isnt that customizable.

I struggle and fight with new problems with this plugin almost every day, so you gotta learn to live with some simple solutions or you'll end up like me. Spending many hours on small things, like finding a creative way to solve a problem, struggle a way to edit\remove stuff with css or change\translate text by using the "Find and replace"-plugin.

There are so much lack of basic things.

Just read your second part of your comment and realized you already asked for my solution ^^

What you can do is go to Cuztomize -> Select form "Step By Step Booking Form" and choose Step 4. Then press the pen next to "First name" and then edit there.

Edit: ATLEAST ITS SUPPOSED TO WORK......... I dont know man, Im literally losing hair from this plugin

Hi Marius, that's actually the solution my client was asking for, thank you very much! The weird thing is it's not showing up on the form yet, even though the change has been saved. Maybe it takes a little while to propagate.

    Thanks again!

    I wouldnt count on it.

A very good plugin that has saved me a lot is "Real-Time Find and Replace Pro"-plugin, you get around 9 replacements in free version and Pro costs about $9 I think, well worth it with some clever usage of rewriting HTML.

(My page is in norwegian) Here's one example where I've turned the "See More" when you hover a Service to "Choose This":

Here is an example from turning this "First name":

    Finding "Fornavn:" in "View Source":

To this "First & middle name":

    Hello Sergio (and Marius),

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Marius gave you the right solution. All you have to do is to go in the Amelia / customize section and add middle name ti the label of the first name field and that's it.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to insert a custom field for this, because as you have already noticed, all custom fields appear in the booking form at the bottom.

When you change anything in the customize section the changes are visible right away at the front there is no need to wait for the changes to be seen. All you have to do is click on the save button on the left, which is a step that users often forget to do.

In case the changes are saved but not visible on the site we would need admin access to be able to investigate the issue.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind Regards,

Hi Marius Volden, this seems to have done the trick. In either case, I did the change in both places and it's finally showing up today. Thanks very much for sharing a quick and easy solution for this!

Marco: Thanks for the feedback as well.

    All the best,
    Sergio
