I'm just setting up Amelia for my client and have a question.

I want to show the next upcoming event for a recurring event only.

Will the shortcode [ameliaevents event=1] do this, or will it only show the very first one of the recurring events?

Thanks for the reply. Let me explain my problem.

The system is very good, but there seems to be something missing which is stopping me being able to do what I need to do.

My client has bootcamps, one a day. I want a page that lists the bootcamps then under each bootcamp gives a form to book that bootcamp only.
However, the two possibilities are:
1) Show just the first event created (which will quickly be in the past so no longer relevant)
2) View every single recurring event, which as I’ve set them for many years in the future, is a list of hundreds of events


Neither of these are at all useful. 


What needs to be shown is the next upcoming events of the recurring event with a limited number. There is no need for anyone to want to book anything years in advance and it’s totally confusing for the user.


Being a programmer myself, there needs to be an extra option on this shortcode:


[ameliaevents event=1 recurring=1]

such as 


[ameliaevents event=1 recurring=1 shownext=3]

I could write this into the plugin but that’s not the way to do it in WP as you will know as it will get overwritten.


I hope you will be able to add this. Without it the event booking widget simply cannot do what I want it to do, and it’s a really good system.
