I'm new to your wpDataTables plugin. It's my understanding that if I link to an Excel file and the contents of the file change, the displayed table on my web page will reflect the changes but that's not happening. Is there a setting I've missed?
The Excel file is a roster that will change fairly often.
Yes, I did use the "linked to an existing source" option but I have resolved my issue as being "user error".
After more study I learned a few important things:
1. Initially I had used an incorrect path for the file so when I updated a file of the same name but in a different path, of course, updates on the screen would not be seen because the wpDataTables linked file was not the file that I updated.
2. Although I didn't mention it in my ticket, the displayed data included only three columns when there are actually 12 columns of data. The issue was that the link process apparently links only columns to the left of the first empty column of the Excel file. After I removed empty columns from the Excel sheet (which was created by someone else), all columns were linked but...
3. The linked sheet has hidden columns to the right of the desired data columns. All but the last of the hidden columns were, as desired, NOT linked but the last hidden column WAS displayed. It just occurred to me that I could go into the wpDataTables definition in the database and remove the undesired, hidden column but I'm guessing that with the next update of the physical file, the hidden column will again be displayed.
Thank you again for your help. This is a terrific plugin (once it's understood)!

Hello Mike,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I have a question regarding your query. Did you create that table by clicking on a Create a table linked to an existing data source.
Looking forward to your reply.
Kind Regards,
Uros Jovanovic
