I see where I can set a refresh rate to keep occurring but I am looking for a one-time refresh for whenever there is a new entry added. What happens on my site is that, because I have an entry form on the same page as a table view, the page has to be refreshed when a new entry is added. Is there a way I can force a onetime instant refresh whenever a user adds a new entry?
- You can search for other resources as well, something similar to this.
- Additionally, I would suggest looking into adding a timeout for this, to give the time that the new entry can be applied into the database, before refreshing the page, perhaps a couple of seconds to be safe. ( it is maybe not necessary, but just an idea)
Um...refresh does not seem to work at all....I have been waiting days for the changes in my google sheet to appear on my WP page. I have set the refresh to 10 sec, 30 sec, 60 sec....nothing. I need these update to happen close to real time, what can I do?
If you did this, the source spreadsheet does not have any link/synchronization to the table, but you can edit the table from WP-Admin , and front-end side.
- If you wish to have a linked/synchronized sheet with a table, you have to use this method (More details here.).
The plugin will show those changes within 15 minutes (since there's cache on Google's side).
If you don't want to face any issues with cache, or you wish to have a faster refresh of the data, you can use the Google Sheets API method. ( more details here-)
- Please let me know if that is the case, or if i perhaps misread the situation.
Actually, i apologise. I can see you made a ticket, showing the table - and it seems it is indeed a linked Google Spreadsheet wpDataTable.
If this refresh workaround i sent here does not work for you, i am sorry to hear that - but this is only a custom solution that one of our users shared with us, as it worked for them. We can not guarantee that it will work for everyone, and our support doesn't cover custom solutions, so unfortunately you will have to research to see why it doesn't work on your installation;
or perhaps if you need to hire someone to help, we can only recommend reaching out to teams such as WP Kraken, but i can't advise on their pricing.

Hello, Mark and Jonah.
Thanks for reaching out to us.

This requires a custom solution that is beyond the level of what our support covers,
but I will do my best to help you get started in the right direction.
For example, this might be achieved with something as explained on this resource from Stack Overflow: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/5404839/how-can-i-refresh-a-page-with-jquery (refresh page on click);
- You can search for other resources as well, something similar to this.

Hi, Geoffrey
If you've waited for days for the data from a Google Spreadsheet to update an output table, it is possible that you have imported the data to create an editable wpDataTable.
If you did this, the source spreadsheet does not have any link/synchronization to the table, but you can edit the table from WP-Admin , and front-end side.
