This question is about the implementation/handling of Google spreadsheet columns including currency data type.
As you wrote in the original WP topic, the current implementation handles such cells as strings:
"All columns that include any other character other than numbers will be considered as string columns, so you can’t link to, or import a table that has a prefix or a suffix.
The data in the column has to contain only numbers, and when you link that table with wpDataTables, you can add a prefix and/or a suffix in column settings."
My question: are you planning to implement a better currency field implementation? The reason why I’m asking is that there’s a typical scenario:
1. We want to import a live Google spreadsheet to wpDataTables, one theat includes columns with currency&number data type. 2. We need these columns’ data type to remain 'currency' because this same column is used by other 3rd party APIs as well.
With this scenario, the current way of implementation (removing the currency symbol in Google, and re-add it in the wpDataTables UI) is not a workable solution.
- I can see what you mean, and I agree, this is something that could improve the use-case scenario which you described.
- At this time, unfortunately, as you saw on the WP topic, this is not possible to achieve with any of our built-in functionalities, but I will pass this to the developers as a suggestion to work on in the future.
As more customers request a feature, it gets pushed quicker on the list. We always strive to make our product better and deliver the most value to our end users, so we carefully review each suggestion.

Thanks in advance for your information on this.

You can add your personal suggestion to this as a built-in feature on this link https://wpdatatables.com/documentation/feature-suggestion/ and our developers would place it on their "TO-DO" list.
