Dear TMS,
I noticed a problem in a data column I created. It looks like that the String type for a column accept a maximum of 230 characters (spaces included). I checked the available data type for the columns and the only available for text is String. Is it possible that it doesn't accept more characters.
Please, let me know if I can solve this.
Best regards,
Carmelo Caruso
Hi, Carmelo Caruso
Thanks for reaching out to us.
- Basically, at this moment, you have already set that column to be a "one-line string" when it was created.
You can either go to your database using something like PhPMyAdmin, and manually change the type of column from VARCHAR( which has a limitation of 255 characters) to TEXT ( 65,535 limit) ,
- or you can delete and recreate this column in wpDataTables and set it right away to be a "multi-line string", this way you will ensure that it has this much higher character limit.
This depends on the type of table, if it will allow you to remove/add new columns.
Let me know how it goes, and if you need further assistance, please. Thanks.
Kind Regards,
Miloš Jovanović

Dear Miloš, thanks a lot for your reply.
Via phpMyAdmin which one is the table/column where I could change the data type?
Best regards,
Carmelo Caruso
Hey, Carmelo
- Well, depends if the table is saved in the database. For example, if you got a manual or SQL type, you can do this :
Enable editing, and check this box, here you will see "MySQL table name for editing" :
Then, in phpMyAdmin, find the table, click on the "columns", and go to "change" button :
and change from VARCHAR to TEXT as shown.
Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks.
