We are looking into adding Custom Fields at the beginning of the booking form asking for various information before asking the customer to book a service.
It seems right now Custom Fields are added after selecting employee, service and time slot.
"Our development team just scratched the surface with the new Customize section, and this is something that they do plan for the future. I can't say exactly when it will be included in the plugin, but extensive work on Custom fields is planned for the next two quarters."
I look forward to seeing a nice update to the Customize section. It would be helpful to be able to add custom fields anywhere in the booking form these are needed.

I would say that changing the order of fields (default and custom) really fits into both the above. To me based on the ticket I mentioned and the above feature requests I believe that the developers are working on creating the next version of the Customize section. I went ahead and added a feature request to be able to add custom fields anywhere in a booking form.
I assume we can close this issue. As it seems we just have to wait and see in regards to the next major update of Amelia.
