I am getting an error message where the [amelialbooking] shortcode should display, see the attached screenshot. I have got five services set up, all assigned to an employee, in this case me, so I don't understand why I am getting an error message telling me I have no services or employees set up?
I have temporarily deleted the shortcode from the page because I would rather have no booking calendar at all rather than an error showing we don't know what we are doing!
The shortcode you provided [amelialbooking] is not valid, the valid shortcode is [ameliabooking], can you please confirm that that is the shortcode used on your page.
Yes, that was a typo on my side, I used the Amelia Booking View block to insert the shortcode. The weird thing is that after I deleted the block and re-installed it today, the form is working fine now, so maybe a caching problem? If you go to our Book An Appointment page now, it looks really schmick! :-)
Next problem is setting up the 'Bring a Friend' option when bookings are set to Pending -- I had minimum set to 1 and maximum set to 4, but on the form the only option was 3 friends?
Further to the issue with the 'Bring a Friend' option, here is a screenshot of what is happening -- the Minimum Capacity is set to 1 and Maximum Capacity is set to 4, but the only option showing is '3 friends'? User error?
That is exactly how the "Bring anyone with you" option should work. For example, if the maximum capacity is 4, and I try to book an appointment and I want to bring 3 of my friend, that would be equal to 4 people which is the maximum capacity.
Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.
What I need is for a client to specify whether they are bringing 1, 2 or 3 guests with them, but the only option they are getting is to bring 3 friends?
Please check if you have the "Allow booking below minimum capacity:" option disabled. If you do, please enable it.
Navigate to Amelia/Settings/Appointments and the second setting shown will be "Allow booking below minimum capacity:". Test it out after you enable it and provide us with an update.
That doesn't even make sense, but it does the job the way I need it to, thanks. It is now giving the viewer the option to bring one, two or three friends with them the way I wanted.
But why did I need to activate "allow bookings below minimum capacity" to get it to show? It is definitely not logical or intuitive.
This option is mostly used to allow booking to be made for services with a "Minimum capacity" of more than one without having to bring someone. This option had to be described in one sentence, thus this is the name chosen for this option.
Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.
