We are finding that people are occasionally entering their email address incorrectly, and so aren't getting email notifications when booking. Is there a way to have a second 'confirm email address' field so that we might reduce the errors?

There is no such builtin feature but you can add required custom fields that would ask your clients to re-enter their information.
