    Hello,

I am slowly preparing to open up a barber shop and was became interested in Amerlia. One of my friends recommended it. I watched your videos and look through various settings but I couldn't figure out one thing.

Here is a scenario that I will most likely have at the beginning so I want to know if it's possible to set up the schedule in a way where I have myself and 2 other barbers but to start I will have only 1 station. We will slowly expand as my barbers get better and so on.

But for now, how would I initially configure Amelia so that I have different categories and in each category I have my services and lets say I have an appointment and someone tried to book an appointment for the same time slot with another of my barbers but they don't have a station, what settings would I need to have to prevent that.

For now I think I would want to have 1 service with whichever barber per time slot.

How do I do that? Is it possible? I love how Amelia looks so I hope there is a solution.

    Looking forward to your answer.

    Hello Patrick,

Thank you for your interest in our product.

We are here to help. We will try to answer to all of your questions as best as possible:

    1. Here is a scenario that I will most likely have at the beginning so I want to know if it's possible to set up the schedule in a way where I have myself and 2 other barbers but to start I will have only 1 station. We will slowly expand as my barbers get better and so on. - You can add multiple employees to one service and your customers can choose which one they want. But also if your employees are in training now you can just assign yourself as an employee so that the customers can book only with you and if you want to let some of your employees to "doo" that appointment you let them on-site to step in instead of you.

    2. For now I think I would want to have 1 service with whichever barber per time slot. - I mentioned it above if you have only one seat and three barbers the best way is to select only one employee for that service call him just a barber for example so that your customers cant choose which one they want. If you assign three employees to a service Amelia will assume and offer three available spots for that service because you have three employees.

    3.

But for now, how would I initially configure Amelia so that I have different categories and in each category I have my services, and let's say I have an appointment and someone tried to book an appointment for the same time slot with another of my barbers but they don't have a station, what settings would I need to have to prevent that. - Same answer as above. You can create services and you can assign only one employee for those services available time slots are tied in Amelia with an employee, not with service and when you are booked on one service you won't be available for another.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind Regards,

Marko, thank you for the reply! That helped me a lot. I have one more important thing to ask, when setting days off or special days, does the calendar show some sort of indicator or is it highlighted somehow in red or in color signifying it's a day off or special day?

    Hello Patrick,

We are glad that we're able to help you.

No, it will not be highlighted if you enter it like a special day the special that has the"priority" and it will just overwrite the regular working hours, and if you give him the day off then the employee will just be unavailable for booking.

If you have any more questions please feel to open another ticket.

    Thanks,

the reason why I am asking is that I worked with another system where it had something similar but when there was a special day but it also wasnt highlighted in the calendar, people were making the mistake of booking it anyways (admin access) despite the fact it was a day off because it wasnt showing in the calendar. I think it would be a good idea to do that in your system, it would help people get things done quicker.
