Remove Outlook Calendar Busy Slots: Does this option in settings lead to the customer being able to book the employee, even though he would have a busy calendar? Or does it (as I would like) allow me to "overwrite" a busy slot myself? So, in other words, is this for the backend only, or frontend to? (Explanation: I have a problem when customer changes times, e.g. extend appointment which is another service, I can´t book the new instead of the old, since the time is busy)
Question 2:
"Include buffer time in appointments": I would like for the employee to see and have the buffer time included, but it seems the client sees that also?!! Can I have only the employee included, but not the client and how?
"Remove Outlook Calendar Busy Slots" removes existing events from your Outlook Calendar from your employee's availability in Amelia. So, if you have a busy slot in Outlook for December 1st, from 12:00 - 14:00 that time will not be available for booking in Amelia.
This works for both the back-end and the front-end.
2. Is this in reference to Outlook Calendar also? Because, the Outlook Calendar integration only works for employees, not customers. Or is this in regard to Amelia's General Settings?
1) Do you mean "Event" as Amelia event, or any "event", e.g. if I do have another appointment (outside Amelia) which shows "busy", will that be available to Amelia?
In any case, it doesn´t seem to make much sense to turn that off, if clients can then book my time double. However, I would like to be able to book over my time on the backend of Amelia, e.g. if customer calls in and wants to start a 1h meeting 30 minutes early. This is not possible at the moment, as the edit function doesn´t allow me to change the time, e.g. 11.30 to 11.00, as 11.30-12 is already blocked from the very same appointment. Maybe you can pass that on to development. It would be useful to change that (from the backend only).
2) Yes, it seems my customers got the Outlook appointment also for the prep time (so they saw the wrong time), and were asking me if I changed the meeting.
When referring to an "event" while talking about Outlook or Google calendar, the event is coming from those calendars. If there's an event in Outlook calendar, and it's set to busy, the employee that is connected to that calendar in Amelia/Employees/Employee's Profile, will not have that time available for booking (if "Remove Outlook Calendar Busy Slots" is enabled).
As for rescheduling the appointment from the back-end - I can't replicate that behavior. If this is the appointment I want to reschedule:
I can edit it as an admin and select any time before or after that, given that there aren't other appointments or busy events from Outlook that block that:
2. The buffer time can be excluded from Outlook by disabling the "Include Buffer time in Outlook events" slider:
However, as mentioned before, the Outlook Calendar integration works only for Employees, not Customers, so what they see is probably the invitation (ICS file) which includes the buffer time as well. Can you send me a screenshot of what they see?
