    Hi

Here is an overview of some of the things I did in PoEDIT and in Loco Translate.

I downloaded PoEDIT and followed your documentation here:
    https://wpamelia.com/multilingual-support/

I began by changing the site language to Norwegian.
Settings -> General -> Site Language.

Went to my own user. Users -> Profile.
Changed the language for the specific user back to English.

    Step 1.
I made a folder called: nb_NO in the Ameliabooking -> languages folder.
Got a hold of the amelia PO file. I can not recall from where right now.
Downloaded the PO file and brought it into PoEDIT. Did an auto translation of it. Then went through and adjusted. Saved the Po file as wpamelia-nb_NO.po and then exported to wpamelia-nb_NO.mo. Uploaded both PO and MO files to the nb_NO folder in the languages folder. Expected the translation to show up fairly quickly. Waited to see if there would be an Translation update in the Update screen. But that did not show up. Even on hard refresh. Changing site languages etc.

Obviously there is some confusion regarding the above approach. As it did not work for me. Translation did not come through.

    Step 2.
In installed and activated Loco Translate. Went to Loco Translate -> Plugins.
Selected Amelia. Clicked New language (I believe I might remember wrong).
Anyhow I end up with a Norwegian language. I clicked it and went through to see what I wanted to have translated. Clicked the Sync button (I believe). Checked the frontend of the booking form and the employee panel and noticed that everything was now translated to Norwegian. (I really need to update these steps.)

I will suggest that you again go through the multilingual documentation. Add something similar to what I explained in step 1 and 2. As I believe there is some confusion around some of this procedure. It would be helpful to add some more details to the multilingual documentation.

    Thanks!

    Hi Paal!

    Thank you for contacting backsmile.png

In regards to the steps of POEDIT instructions, thank you for the suggestion; I apologize that it was inconvenient (I'm happy to hear that the translation with Loco was successful!).

I made sure to inform the team about the instructions; just please let me know, have the .po and .mo files still shown as uploadedĀ (translations did not show but the files itself) in the file with the appropriate date and time of change?

    Hi Ivana

I had earlier uploaded the .po and .mo files through the cPanel File Manager.

I just rechecked. Inside the site in use.In the ameliabooking -> languages -> (made following folder) nb_NO -> added wpamelia-nb_NO.mo and wpamelia-nb_NO.po files.

Retesting by deactivating Loco Translate plugin.
Actually it looks like the .mo and .po files have been picked up now.

What I believe is going on is that it can take a little while before the added translations are picked up by a website (I even hard refreshed a few times). I believed that something was not working when these were not picked up/read by the web site.

My conclusion is that there is a need to mention in the multilingual-support documentation that it can take a while before the web site reads the .mo and .po files. One should check the Amelia forms a few times as the new translation should come up nicely as outlined in the documentation.

    Hi Paal!

In that case, it must be the loading time; we will see if it depends on the capacity of the file (with more expansive translations).

    Thank you so much!smile.png
