I have a very specific pre-purchase question. I am extremely interested in the api calls between google for instant updates from google sheets.
However, I would like to know if this affects the google request limit quota for google's api.
For instance, if I have 500 users all refreshing google api wpdatatables table at the same ... does this cause 500 requests to google drive api?
I ask because I know that google drive api limits requests of approx. 100 requests per 100 seconds, and at peak site usage this would cause an error. I don't know if this is how wpdatables works with the api though.
Thank you for your help, and I look forward to your answer so that I can proceed with purchase.
Google Sheets API does have a quota limit. It's limited to 500 requests per 100 seconds per project, and 100 requests per 100 seconds per user (as you said).
That quota can be increased, but that requires an additional charge in Google (increasing the quota is not free). Another way would be to use the old method without the API.
Our developers looked for a way to bypass this, but unfortunately, they did not find it (yet).
ok thank you for the response. to be clear the "old way" is to share public/publish, and it pulls data correct. However, I am assuming that the "old way" still has a delay issue with changes do to the google cache delay correct?

Hey Owen

Thank you again
That is correct, Owen, the old way does take some time to pull the data from the spreadsheet due to cache.
