Issue with email notifications could be caused by several reasons:
1. Your hosting provider is blocking all 3rd party settings, and only allowing their SMTP (or other) settings.
2. Your website has PHP version less than 7
3. The credentials are not correct
4. There's something else blocking the notifications from being sent.
5. If you're using Gmail, please make sure "Allow less secure apps" is enabled.
For the template saving, make sure to disable Grammarly while managing notifications.
Please check these points, and let me know if you were able to resolve the issue. If you're still not able to resolve the issue, we'll need to remote into your website, and see what's going on.
I have checked with zoho support (email provider). All my basic mail settings were okay. They suggested using an SMTP plugin on my wordpress site. (Amelia was my one and only plugin at that time).
So I have installed zoho's SMTP plugin and it is configured and sending test emails from the wordpress dashboard okay.
Tried Amelia notification test email again, but unfortunately still getting the same "error email has not been sent"
zoho's tech support advised to check my from email address matched that in my email account - which it does and that is also configured correctly in Amelia's settings.
zoho suggested that you might be able to send the following:
"
we request you to check with the plugin provider and obtain SMTPsending server logs> i.e. the mails will originate in their plugin using zoho's SMTP server - so if you can get those logs- it helps us check further
9:44:07 AMwe recommend to have only one SMTP plugin for wordpress - so you can try that as well - if it helps
If you use Zoho SMTP plugin, you should set the mail service in Amelia -> Settings -> Notification to WP mail.
Also, you can find notification logs in the database -> wp_amelia_notifications_log table.
If that doesn't help, please provide us with a temporary WP Admin login, so we will be able to look into the issue from the inside. You can post the credentials in a private reply to this ticket.
Unable to configure email.
Sent test email but keep getting error message.
SMS is working fine.
I noted that none of the email templates save and the original ones that were in the system have vanished as well.
All the preformatted SMS templates are fine.
Note I had trialled the oppositions Software (Bookly) and their notification emails worked fine on the same settings.
cheers
