after all details are entered for a booking and I click on "confirm", then the submission does not go through. There is a message: "please wait" and a loading circle icon, but nothing happens further. Please advise.

Can you please tell us if you have updated the plugin to the latest version (4.2)?
Are you using any caching plugins?
If so, please exclude pages with Amelia from its settings since Amelia is conflicting with caching plugins.
