Amelia's payment methods

I have a problem with the latest Amelia update.

I provide online services, so I do not have a payment method "On-site", and instead I accept bank transfers, for this reason, until now I used Loco Translate, to translate "On-site", by "bank transfer / Zelle / Payment Mobile /" (The lastest is a payment method similar to Zelle that works in Venezuela). The point is that with the new version of Amelia, I no longer have the possibility to translate the payment "On Site" to adapt it to something that fits my professional practice, where as a psychologist, I sell online services that can be paid through of transfers (Example Zelle).

With Stripe, before the last update, I didn't tell my clients that they would pay by that means, I simply put "Credit or debit card" on them, making the payment gateway that I used to charge them transparent to them. No one has to know what Stripe is.

How can I solve this issue, since I cannot find any option that allows me to modify the titles of the payment methods?

    Hi Melvin

    Thank you for your purchase.

Words can be changed using POEDIT or Loco Translate for example very easily. Since you said you already used Loco Translate there should be no issues in translating these strings once again.

If you want to use POEDIT then this is an instruction:

    1. Download the Amelia plugin from our TMS Store or from email that you receive when you made purchase and save the .zip file on your computer.

    2. Unzip downloaded .zip file.

    3. You need to download and install POEDIT

    4. After that open the program and open the file from the extracted folder on your computer ameliabooking/languages/fr_FR/wpamelia-fr_FR.po.

    5. Translate all the strings that are not translated

    6. Save the translation.

    7. Go to ameliabooking/languages/fr_FR/ folder and copy these two files called wpamelia-fr_FR.po and wpamelia-fr_FR.mo back to your website in the location ../wp-content/plugins/ameliabooking/languages/fr_FR/.

This is example for French language, but you will choose yours even if it is the same language.

    Hello Blaženka

I have been working with Loco Translate for many years. In fact, since I implemented Amelia on my site (more than a year ago) , I have been sending you the translations of the Spanish version. Believe me, I have no problem with implementing translations on the site, in fact, I have always been able to translate "On-Site" as I explained, and it is certainly taking it, but only on the back-end, since on the front-end, it doesn't make the translation, probably because that string is defined as a literal.

On other hand, I would like the third payment method I use (Stripe) to be associated with payment through credit or debit cards, making the payment gateway used transparent for users.

I think the underlying solution would be to allow Amelia clients to introduce the payment methods that we use along with a template to capture the data. As I explained, in my case I accept payment for Zelle and I have no way of specifying it.

Please see the 3 attached files. In the first you will see the translation in Loco translate of the "On-Site", in the second you will see how it looks on my back-end and in the third, how it looks on the front-end. Obviously, you are not taking the translation on the front-end, and I understand that this does not depend on the plug-in that is used to translate.

    Best regards,

    Melvin Brea

    Hi Melvin

Thank you for the further explanation it creates a more clear picture of the issue you are facing.

Can you please provide me a temporary WP-admin (administrator) user for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue.

We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.

You can write credentials here just check PRIVATE Reply so nobody can see them except us.

On other hand, I would like the third payment method I use (Stripe) to be associated with payment through credit or debit cards, making the payment gateway used transparent for users. - The only payment methods we have available are the ones mentioned in our documentation, and it is not possible to introduce any different payment method currently. If you are able to achieve what you are looking for through Stripe or by modifying the translation we will be happy to assist but I'm afraid there is not much more we can do about this.

    Hi Melvin,

good to hear from you again, I hope that you're well!smile.pngI'm sorry to hear that you're facing translation issues (especially since you've helped us so much with them!).

This bit of text is available in PoEdit plugin, however, I'd still like to hear our senior's opinion to make sure that the translation function is working properly in general on your plugin. He isn't here during weekends, but he will be on Monday, so I apologize if the response comes a bit later. I will leave this message unread for him as Blazenka already forwarded this ticket to him.

    Helo Ivana:

    Hi Ivanna.

Don't worry, as we say in Venezuena, those things happen even in the best families ;o)

I tell you that I usually do my translations with Loco Translate and I understand that it works in a similar way to PoEdit.

I was able to find the string "On-Site" in Loco Translate, and I translated it to adapt it to my needs, only that the translation, as I showed in the images, is only seen in the bank-end, when setting the payment's methods, but the Front-End doesn't take the translation, this, in my way of seeing, is because the string is shown inside a box with an icon.

I really believe that this point should be considered as an improvement of Amelia: the possibility of incorporating payment methods in the configuration, so that the administrators of the sites, we can add, not only the name of the payment method but also the icon to be displayed and a link (in case the payment can be processed electronically).

As I also explained before, in my particular case (I'm sure it applies to many Amelia clients), I offer remote services, so I need to replace the "On-site" payment method with "Transfer" (ACH or Zelle). Before I did it perfectly, because with Loco Translate, I put "Transfer / Zelle" as the "On´site" translation, but that no longer works, I think since the last version. In my opinion, this change, incorporated with the best of intentions, takes away Amelia's flexibility.

    Beste regards,

    Hey Melvin

    Sorry for the late response.

We released an updated visual experience, but we did not take this into consideration. This was already reported to us by a few customers, so our developers already have a task to allow customization of payment icons.

I can't guarantee that it will be included in the next update, but I believe they'll be able to allow you to choose the old vs the new appearance of the payment. That could be a short workaround until the payment icons are included in the new customize section.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi,

Is there something new about this issue ? The on-site label and icon don't fit our organisation and we can't change that... Can't even translate the label. It's something really important because we don't use on-site payment but by-cheque payment

    Hello laurent and Melvin.

It is possible to change this now, but it's not a perfect solution.

You need to go to ameliabooking/public/js/chunks/ folder and open the file that looks like this:

    amelia-booking-booking-e699bcfa2244b52e0818.js

The hash may be different, so if it's not "e699bcfa2244b52e0818" it is something else, it's important to look for amelia-booking-booking-hash.js

When you edit this file, look for "On-Site", "Paypal", "Stripe", "Online" (case sensitive), and you'll see this:

    case"paypal":return"Paypal";case"stripe":return"Stripe";case"onsite":return"On-Site";case"mollie":return"Online"

You can change all values in quotations, after "return" and it will change on the front-end, so for example, change:

    return"On-Site"

    To:

    return"Invoice"

And so on. Our developers are working on a more elegant solution, but at this time, it's the best one we can offer.

    Hi laurent

Which form are you using? The file I told you to modify is the step-by-step [ameliabooking] form, so if you're using [ameliacatalog], you'd need to change a different file (same folder, only amelia-booking-catalog-hash.js).

    Hello Aleksandar:

I appreciate a lote the "translation option for location description" in Amelia version 4.3, but I don't have any idea about it. Could you please help me with that?

    Hey Melvin.

It's pretty simple, actually - in Amelia/Locations - you can now click on "Languages" and translate the location description:
