Do your users already have accounts with WordPress at the time of booking?
Issue with email notifications could be caused by several reasons:
1. Your hosting provider is blocking all 3rd party settings, and only allowing their SMTP (or other) settings.
2. Your website has PHP version less than 7
3. The credentials are not correct
4. There's something else blocking the notifications from being sent.
5. If you're using Gmail, please make sure "Allow less secure apps" is enabled.
Please check these points, and let me know if you were able to resolve the issue. If you're still not able to resolve the issue, we'll need to remote into your website, and see what's going on.
All settings are correct and using email address not currently used for any users.
On troubleshooting today I have discovered that this is only happening when trying to book a free event.
When I send those visitors through woocommerce checkout (still free) a user is created and they receive the emails.
This however is only a temporary workaround as my automatice market emails require there to be a diference between unpaid and paid bookings (woocommerce customers or non woocommerce customers) so I still need this fixed.
Also also - zoom link in notifications now shows double (see image attached) this is produced using just one zoom link placeholder. I have brought this up before with support, but fobbed off with "this is the current format" - but this is simply an error!
Please provide me a temporary WP-admin (administrator) user for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue.
We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.
You can write credentials here just check PRIVATE Reply so nobody can see them except us.
If you are on hosting where you are not allowed to access your FTP, then follow these instructions:
Please note that after you delete the plugin from your Plugins section, you WILL NOT lose your data.
1.) Download zip from our store or from the email you received when you purchased the plugin
2.) Delete Amelia plugin from WordPress' Plugins page
3) Click on Add new in top left of your Plugins page
4) Click on Upload plugin in top left of your Plugins page
5.) Choose the previously downloaded ameliabooking.zip file
6.) When uploading is done, please Activate Amelia plugin
7.) Clear server and browser cache.
Please note that our plugin is around 8 MB in size, so if you are not able to upload it through WordPress plugins page, you will need to increase the following:
upload_max_file size,
post_max_size,
max_execution_time
You should be able to find these values in your php.ini file or on your hosting panel. If you can't find it yourself please ask your hosting provider to provide it.
Hi update has solved all but the zoom link notification thank you - so this is still duplicating the zoom link and only allowing it as a a bullet point.
As a work around is it possible to assign the zoom link as an actual hyperlink of a word?
Zoom placeholders for events are different from placeholders for services, sorry about that.
For events, once you click on one of the event booking notifications you will see four different placeholders at the bottom of the list:
%zoom_host_url_date% – this is the placeholder that you need to paste in employees’ event notifications if you want to show the URL with the date.
%zoom_host_url_date_time% – this is the placeholder that you need to paste in employees’ event notifications if you want to show the URL with date and time
%zoom_join_url_date% – this is the placeholder that you need to paste in customers’ event notifications if you want to show the URL with the date.
%zoom_join_url_date_time% – this is the placeholder that you need to paste in customers’ event notifications if you want to show the URL with date and time.
Yes I understand this - could you please send me a screen shot of an email received by the customer with the zoom url link - because no one seems to understand what I am saying so it makes me think that what I am getting is a unique error.
When customers book an appointment they are not being added as a wordpress user or receiving appointment email notifications.
Setting for automatic user creation is turned on.

Additionally I now have a problem with locations.
Addresses are not being stored after save and although maps are being displayed they are not the correct location.
I have installed API with all credentials required.
Also also - zoom link in notifications now shows double (see image attached) this is produced using just one zoom link placeholder. I have brought this up before with support, but fobbed off with "this is the current format" - but this is simply an error!
Hi Matthew,
we can then check all 3 of the issues in one go;
Please provide me a temporary WP-admin (administrator) user for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue.

Hi Matthew,
this error could be due to the outdated plugin; please update Amelia to 4.1
My suggestion is to update the plugin manually by following these steps:
1.) Download zip from our store or from the email you received when you purchased the plugin
2.) Use FTP to open /yourwordpressfolder/wp-content/plugins
3.) Delete existing ameliabooking folder.
4.) Upload the previously downloaded ameliabooking folder through FTP into "plugins" folder (unzip it)
5.) Go to WP-admin panel, open Plugins section.
6.) Deactivate Amelia Plugin, and then activate it again.
7.) Clear server and browser cache

Hi, Matthew,
If I understood your question correctly then you can try to add the placeholder as a hyperlink to the notification template, for example:
Best Regards.
So I have tried this with event bookings but it doesn't work.
Hello Matthew
Sorry for the late response.

Hi, Matthew,
Sorry for the delay.
This is a screenshot from a test booking:
I used %zoom_join_url_date% and %zoom_join_url_date_time% placeholders, that's why there are two links (otherwise there would be only one).
So, they do have bullet points, but they should not be duplicated unless you have multiple dates or time periods under one Event.
Best Regards.
