The plugin is currently set to pull all events that you have, so it's causing the delay. The page itself loads in less than 3 seconds for me, but for Amelia to display events, it takes around 10 - 12 seconds.
Our developers are currently working on optimizing the plugin, so it loads only the predefined "Time available for booking in advanced".
I enabled "Load entities on page load" in Amelia's Activation Settings:
And it looks like it's loading a bit faster. Can you check now?
It's not as fast as it's going to be, but I believe it's a bit better.
I have the same problem as Ali. And nobody is able to make a reservation for our events. Plugin says "Please wait" for minutes and no registration can be seen in backend. We are desperate because our events are the big part of our business. And if nobody can registrate, we do not have orders. :( Please, help.
Could you please open a new ticket and provide us with a temporary WP Admin login and the link to the booking page?
Unfortunately, since you are not the owner of this ticket, you won't be able to post the credentials as a private reply here, that's why we need you to open a new one.
I launched this ticket on August 31 and it’s almost 2 weeks and yet nothing has been resolved. I would like to get this resolved as quickly as possible as it has created a horrible user experience for our members.
The club pages are important to the website as it is the only way for members to book their workouts sessions with the gym.
It was working perfectly fine and loading smoothly prior to the recent update.
Please let me know what your timeline is for fixing this issue, and if you can revert to the older version until you have resolved this bug.
I would like to re-open this ticket. Last time we got lucky as the restrictions were lifted and we didn't need the booking system anymore. However, due to the new Omicron variant we might need to use the booking system again, and would like to be prepared if that becomes the case.
We are trying to improve the user experience from last time, where it took 8 seconds to load our page. Has Amelia been updated to address this issue, as in a more efficient user experience? If not can you please help us find a solution to this problem.
I was thinking of using a JS Deferrer. So the rest of the page loads first and then Amelia Plugin. What do you think? Can you recommend a plugin that would work with Amelia that could do this ?
With the next update, we are going to release some optimization, but I can't say for sure if that's going to resolve your issue.
Amelia currently does exactly what you said - it loads last on the page, so there's no need to include any plugins or fixes that would apply this behavior.
The next update is going to be released before 2022 (unless something unexpected happens), so once it does, you'll be able to test it, and see how it performs.
Hi,
All of a sudden all the pages where I have Amelia set up they are running slow!
Please take a look at this link:
https://www.bodyandsoul.ca/front-berkeley/
Also... How do I remove the location selection as I do not want that.
Hi Ali,
thank you for reaching out to us
Slow loading can happen due to several factors; please check if you have latest Amelia version 4.1.
Do you have a high number of employees, services, or bookings? Have you made any recent changes to the site?
Location choice can be hidden in Amelia > Customization tab:
Hi Ivana,
Thank you for your response.
I do have the latest Amelia Plugin.
The only change I did is create more events?
Also, I had the location using CSS since the option you showed me was for only bookings. :)
What can I do to speed up the load time ?
I have events Running from Sept 01- Dec 31st
Is it possible to only load on a month to month or bi-weekly basis ?
As that could be causing the page to load slowly ?
Best,
Ali
Hi Ali!
Thank you for the kind reply
You can manage how many events show per page in Amelia > Settings > General Settings:
If that doesn't speed it up, would you mind making a wpadmin access for us, so that we can temporary take a look?
Hello Ali
You need to change the view in Customize:
In the top right - choose "Event List Booking Form", and there you can choose if Location, Capacity, etc. will be displayed in Events list or not.
As for the speed, the page you left us loads in around 5 seconds, while all entities on the page load within around 8 seconds:
Can you please try clearing cache on your website, server and browser and check again?
Kind Regards,
Aleksandar Vuković

Hi Aleksandar,
Thank you for letting me know about the visibility.
For the speed:
It was loading quickly before I applied changes to Amelia... which was adding more events.
So, I don't think it is the other element.
Can you recommend or find a solution to only load Amelia JS once the page is loaded?

Hello Ali
We released a new update today, so please update the plugin, clear cache from your website, and test again.
If the issue is still there, we'll send you the older version of the plugin, but please tell me which one was that, 4.0.1 or 3.3?
Kind Regards,
Aleksandar Vuković

Hi Aleksandar,
The page is still loading slowly.
Please could you revert back 4.0.1.... Hopefully that will fix the issue.
Best,
Ali Raza
Hello again Ali
It should not affect the plugin. New settings are stored in the database, and the database is not modified when you replace the installation files.
