We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!
We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.
You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.
While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.
We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.
Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!
Hi Team,
Quick question: how does your plugin choose an employee when multiple employees are available for the same service in the same time slot.
To give you some context, I am creating a very simple appointment system: customers have only one service to book, they choose the date and time and pay, that's it. They can't choose between all the employees available for the time slot they choosen.
I look forward to your response,
Best,
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
thank you for reaching out to us
The choice of the employee when you have multiple on one service is random (first available). If you don't want customers having access to a choice you can hide the employee choice field in Amelia > Customize.
Hi Ivana,
Thank you for the reply. Exactly, I have hidden the employee choice field, and I would look to know how employees will be selected when Iwhen several of them are available for the same slot.
Sorry but I'm not sure I understand your reply :
Sorry if i'm picky but I really need to know,
Best,
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
thank you for the kind reply!
I need to advise it's "random" as it's not numerical (per exact order top to bottom or bottom to top) nor is it alphabetical; I do see however, that random may be a bit of a reach here, I apologize.
The order is first available; if there are two employees and one is booked, the other one is an automatic choice. However, if there are more than two employees, and if they have identical work hours, Amelia will pick any employee first.
Hi Ivana,
I ask you this because I would like to avoid frustrations with the employees (In our case, they are freelancers and not employees).
indeed I don't want the first employee/freelancer to be favored by the system and obtain more customers requests because he was the first one registered on Amelia and Amelia pick him first whenever him and several other employees/freelancer are available for the same time slot.
So if there are more than two employees/freelancers, and if they have identical work hours, it is not because an employee/freelancer has been created first on the site that he will always receive the booking in priority ?
Sorry if I am not very clear,
Best,
Kevin
Hi, Kevin,
Thank you for choosing Amelia.
There is no special algorithm for Employee selection in Amelia, so if a Customer didn't select an Employee, or selected the "Any Employee" option, an Employee should be assigned to an Appointment randomly.
Could you please clarify how often it happens that the first Employee gets assigned?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi Liza,
The site is not launched yet, we have not encountered any problems. I just want to understand how the system works to anticipate/avoid such problem.
You can close the ticket.
Best,
Kevin
Kevin,
I see.
We don't have any statistics on that so we cannot really say how probability will work for your particular case, but there should be no preferences when it comes to random Employee selection.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.
Best Regards.
