Hey everyone!
With the holiday season upon us, we want to share our upcoming working hours:
- New Year: Our team will be off on January 1st and 2nd. We’ll be back on Friday, January 3rd, to respond to any messages received during this time.
- Weekend: As usual, we don’t work on weekends, so January 4th and 5th will also be non-working days.
- Orthodox Christmas: Our office will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, January 6th and 7th for the holiday.
After that, we’ll return to our regular schedule and assist you as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, you can explore our documentation for Amelia and wpDataTables. You'll find tons of helpful resources, including articles and handy video tutorials on YouTube (Amelia's YouTube Channel and wpDataTables' YouTube Channel), which might just have the answers you need while we’re away.
Thanks a bunch for your understanding and support!
Warm regards and happy holidays!

wpDataTables: Why in the heck would I pay for a plug-in whose very FIRST update I attempt to apply crashes my site, and results in the complete DISAPPEARANCE of the plug-in from the site, apparently along with the configured tables, so now my homepage is missing half its content.

Hi JP
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Could you please give us some more details/screenshots/screen recording of the issue you are facing and the steps taken leading to it, so we can get a better understanding of the issue since we have never had this reported before?
There is nothing in the plugin's core that would cause this behavior so we can presume there is a conflict with some other plugin you currently have installed or the active theme but this requires further investigation.
Current theme and current plugins screenshots are attached. Unfortunately, the error the update process generated is not in my website's logs, and I wasn't able to screenshot it before the page reloaded into "maintenance mode".
I checked in my wp database and the tables along with the data are still there. If I reinstall the wpDataTables plugin, will it overwrite that data? If so, could I copy out the data from wp_wp_wpdatatables_columns and wp_wp_wpdatatables_rows and manually edit it back in after creating two empty datatables?
Also: It looks like the plug-in's files have been updated as all the datetimestamps on the files are at the time I attempted the update.
UPDATE 1:43 PM: I got impatient and went ahead. I had to delete the wpdatatables plugin directory, then the install worked. The existing data was preserved, so I am up and running again. In order to edit the existing tables, I did have to manually add a value to the wp_wp_wpdatatables.Title field, since that's the field that ends up being a link in the Browse Tables page.
Hi JP
I'm sorry I had to keep you waiting for a reply, our working hours were over before I saw the updates. I am glad to hear you were able to find a solution and a good solution that was, so I wouldn't suggest anything different to what you already did. Please let me know if everything is in working order and if there is anything else we can assist you with.
