Limit booking by staff AND room

    Hello,

    I have 4 teachers and 2 rooms.

Once 2 services are booked for the same time period, I need to limit availability regardless of whether other teachers are available.

In other words, I need to limit booking by both employee and resource availability.

    Is this possible with Amelia?

    Thank you,
    Nick

    Hi nick

Thank you for reaching out to us.

This is regulated by setting the service's maximum capacity. If you have 4 teachers assigned to one service but the room's capacity is 1 the time slot will be unavailable as soon as that 1 person has booked that time slot for that service.

    Hi Blaženka,

    Thanks for your help.

The problem I foresee is that I have is that I have multiple services (classes) that use the same rooms and each class has multiple students.

If I set the service capacity for a service to 1, then the other services can still be booked even though there are no rooms available. This would also cause another problem because  the capacity for the class is not 1; multiple people need to be able to book the class.

For example, if I have 4 teachers, 2 rooms, 4 different classes; and each class accommodates 5 students:

    Teachers: John, Tom, Bob, Roger

    Services: Math, English, History, Science

    Rooms: Front Room, Back Room

John teaches Math; Tom teaches English, Bob teaches History, and Roger teaches Science

If 5 students book a class with Tom and and 3 students book a class with Bob, then 2 more students should be able to enroll in Bob's class, but no other students should be able to book anything because there are no rooms available.

    Thanks,
    Nick

    Hi Nick

In that case I would suggest connecting all teachers to the same calendar so when one time slot is full it will not be available for any of the teachers, would that work for you?

    Hi Blaženka,

That sounds like a potential work-around.

Can you explain how I would set this up for 2 rooms as I explained in my previous post?

    Thanks,

    Nick

    Hello,

I tried posting this as another ticket but am getting a message that my purchase code is invalid or expired, so I am going to just post it here since it is a similar issue:

    Hello,

I have a class that requires 2 teachers. I need the time slot to only allow selection of time slots when both teaches are available.

These teaches also teach other classes individually that do not require multiple teaches.

    Can Amelia handle this?

    Thanks,

    Nick

    Hello,

When I hide the employee selection field it is also hiding the "bring other people with you field".

I need to display the "bring other people with you field" and not display the employee field.

    Thanks,

    Nick

    Hi Nick

Our step by step booking UI is customer friendly and simple; however, there are a lot of options that you can mix and match to organize it to suit your business in the best possible way; you can check out our documentation for all features Amelia offers, test out our demos; or you can download Amelia Lite to your site and see how it works in real time.

For this scenario as I said before I would connect all employees to the same google calendar so the busy slots would get transferred over to Amelia for all employees, however you will not be able to have free time slots for individual services if any of the teacher has a booked time slot.

Please check if you have this option enabled in Amelia - Customize

    Hi Blaženka,

Thanks again for your help. I already paid for and installed the pro version of Amelia.

Your solution would work if I only needed to schedule 1 service at a time, but I want to schedule up to 2 services at a time with any staff that is available (e.g., 4 staff and 2 rooms; only 2 rooms can be used at any time).

It sounds like Amelia is not able to handle this and the only workaround would be linking all the calendars so that I could only schedule 1 service at a time, is that correct?

    Thanks,
    Nick

    Hi Nick

Would using two different calendars be a solution?

Unfortunately Amelia doesn't have any other way to set booking limitations for such scenario.

I'll kindly ask you to add it as a feature suggestion on this page.

Features are pushed up on our "to-do" list when there are a lot of customers requesting those features, so having your vote as a customer can be beneficial to this feature being developed sooner.
