I created ~7 tables in a database by uploading CSVs before realizing that, despite having provided names when the tables were created, phpMyAdmin was reporting totally different names like wp_wpdatatables_1 instead of the specific name used and it was causing me a lot of confusion. I used phpMyAdmin's SQL functionality to ALTER TABLE/RENAME TO the tables and everything seemed to be working fine after that.
However, I noticed today that I no longer see any rows in my wpDataTables admin area in Wordpress in those tables. Additionally, when I tried to rename the table in wpDataTables, I was shown the attached error.
I forgot to mention, I am using the databases to populate GravityForms forms' dropdown fields with GravityWiz's GravityPerks "Populate Anything" database info. Additionally, I am also using the Gravity Forms integration for wpDataTables which allows me to use a GravityForms' form entries as a table type data source.
This still works despite wpDataTables not being able to pull up the data from the admin panel for itself.
If you imported CSV files into wpDataTables, the plugin creates them as manual tables in the database, so they will be named wp_wpdatatables_# by default.
If you imported the CSV files directly in the database, you could only pull them into wpDataTables by creating MySQL query-based tables, and you couldn't see the screen shown in your screenshot, as that indicates the table was created manually (or imported into the plugin), so my guess is you imported the files through wpDataTables.
So, now that you've changed the table names in the database, the plugin can't see them anymore.
You need to go to wp_wpdatatables database table, and check the names of these tables. If they are correct, you need to change the cells in the "content" and "mysql_table_name" columns in that table, so it's not pulling:
SELECT * FROM wp_wpdatatable_1
But instead:
SELECT * FROM yourDatabaseTableName
Also, change the mysql_table_name to contain the correct database table name.

Hello ian
